MSN urls will no longer work in posts at this board, and neither will converting those urls using tinyurl.com or notlong.com. Therefore, you will need to use a different host to house your images.
I have moved all our smileys to photobucket.com . Their free accounts provide 25MB of storage and 1,500 MB of bandwidth per month, with a maximum file size of 250 KB per file. If you try to upload an image larger than that, photobucket will automatically resize it to fit within the limit.
One nice feature photobucket has is the ability to upload up to 19 images at a time, and you can even upload them directly from another site. This means that if you already have an image in your signature that is hosted at MSN, you can simply plug the MSN url in at photobucket and it will be uploaded.
Another nice feature of photobucket is their code generator. If you don't know how to post the image at this board after it's uploaded, simply click on the text box that has the [URL] code, copy, and paste into your post or signature.
I also think I should mention the fact that you can edit the URL of your image after uploading it. Be careful not to re-name an image after posting it, because the link to the old url will no longer exist.
Tips to remember when naming images:
Spaces, underscores (_), and a lot of non-alphanumeric characters will not work at this board. If you use a different host instead of Photobucket to host your images, make sure their urls don't have any 'special' characters. No matter where you host, your best bet is to name your image using one word.
Photobucket's urls are case-sensitive. If you name something "Something.gif" (big "S") and try to post "something.gif" (little "S"), it will not work. My advice is to always use all lower-case letters when naming your images, so you will never have to remember whether you used any caps in your filename.
Note: This does not apply to avatars. Tinyurl and Notlong will still work for your avatar, just not in signatures or posts (and other places that only admins can change anyway).
