I reread this whole series a couple of months ago. I recommend that a first time reader read these six books above before reading the Crescent City Series. I learned recently that Sarah J. Maas intends to connect all three series' together. All three series' have mentioned the ability to travel through space, from world to world, or planet to planet. And there is a crossover event between the Crescent City Series and the A Court of Thorns and Roses Series at the end of book 2, House of Sky and Breath. It is a cliffhanger that will have to wait until book 3 is published in January 2024, House of Flame and Shadow.
In book 7, Kingdom of Ash, there is an occurrence of crossing worlds that connects to book 4, A Court of Silver Flames. In book 2, House of Sky and Breath, there is an occurrence of crossing worlds that connects to A Court of Silver Flames. (Well, most likely it connects to the next book in the series, which some say is also due to be published in January 2024.) The first occurrence is more subtle, but it is best to read the Throne of Glass Series before reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses Series. And then read the Crescent City Series last.
Read:
#1: Throne of Glass Series
The Assassin's Blade Throne of Glass Crown of Midnight Heir of Fire Queen of Shadows Empire of Storms Tower of Dawn Kingdom of Ash <-- Crossing between worlds event #1.
#2: A Court of Thorns and Roses Series
A Court of Thorns and Roses A Court of Mist and Fury A Court of Wings and Ruin A Court of Frost and Starlight A Court of Silver Flames <-- Crossing between worlds event #1 happens in this book.
A Court of ?.?.?.? <-- Will most likely include the crossing between worlds event #2 from House of Sky and Breath. Publication date believed to be January 2024.
#3: Crescent City Series
House of Earth and Blood House of Sky and Breath <-- Crossing between worlds event # 2. (Crossover between worlds event #2 occurs after A Court of Silver Flames. Most likely event #2 will occur in the next book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses Series. Supposedly it will be published in January 2024. )
House of Flame and Shadow <-- Will most likely continue the crossover event from book 2. This book is announced to be published in January 2024.

This doesn't fit with the subjects you've been reading....but I'm finishing up The Angels of Christmas: Hearing God's Voice in Advent by Susan Robb. Guess I'm being seasonal?

We don't have to fit our reading preferences to the same thing. I'm not even sure if I have seasonal books. I'm just going through my TBR pile and finding short reads because I set a goal to read 30 books this year on GoodReads. I'm on book 25. I knew if I chose the big thick books I usually read, I'd never be able to get the 18 books read before the year was up. I've got some Roald Dahl books. I should get those out next. They have even less pages than the books I've chosen so far.

Wow. I’m falling down on the job. I’ve finished six books since the last time I posted. I’ll have to add them once I get on my laptop. I have read the 30 books that I opted to read in 2023, but I’m going to try and read up to 10 more between now and December 31st. Will I make it? Maybe. I’ve been digging out the shortest, thinnest books from my TBR piles. I have some Roald Dahl books I added to the pile years ago, and am just now getting to them. Reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the moment. Will read the sequel next.
Oh.
The third book in the Crescent City series is coming out at the end of January, and all of Sarah J. Maas’ book series’ are connected. Each is about a different world/realm, but some have the ability to travel between worlds/realms. And that is what happens in this third book. The Crescent City crosses over into A Crown of Thorns and Roses series. So, I think I shall be rereading the ACOTAR series, and then the CC series. Not sure if I’ll do it before, or after, reading the third CC book. I’m leaning towards after. Then I can reread both series’ and get a second insight into the third book. I’m itching to reread them now, but I like the idea of waiting so I can reread book three twice.
There was a crossover between the Throne of Glass series, and the ACOTAR series, but it was a ‘blink and you miss it’ kind of moment. There was no interaction between the character from one world/realm and the characters from the other world/realm. The characters see each other in passing, from a great distance, and neither understands the significance of their connection. Only the readers are aware of the significance. The third book in the CC series does have a character from the CC world/realm visit the ACOTAR world/realm, and interact with the ACOTAR characters. It wouldn’t surprise me if eventually there’s a bigger crossover with the TOG series. I’ll probably have to reread all three series’ then. It will be such a hardship. Not looking forward to it at all.

Did I read 10 books this week? NOPE. Did I think I'd read 10 books this week? NOPE. Did I think I'd read 5 books this week? NOPE.
How many books did I read? ONE. I read it yesterday.
So, I've read 31 books of the 30 I set up as my goal to read during 2023.
2023 READING CHALLENGE

I started reading it on December 31, 2023 . . . and finished it on January 13, 2024. I did not enjoy it. The first book is so much better.
I read, Argylle by Elly Conway. (Ghostwriters: Terry Hayes and Tammy Cohen.)

I started reading it on January 13, 2024 . . . and finished it a little bit ago. (February 5, 2024)
My GoodReads Review:
I highly recommend this book for insomniacs who need something to put them to sleep.
I was bored to tears reading this book. I didn’t care about the characters, nor their missions. The climax was okay, but not worthy of the wasted time I spent reading this book. I won’t be reading anything by Elly Conway, ever. Nor will I waste time reading anything by Terry Hayes. Sadly, if this is a reflection on Tammy Cohen’s writing style, I won’t be reading her works either.
As someone who doesn’t let the reviews, recommendations, and criticisms of the works of others sway what I will and won’t read or watch, my last words are to trust your gut. You know what you do and don’t like. I’m sure there are many who do, and will, love this book and will look forward to more books in the series. You do you. Me? I’m done with this book series, and the ghostwriters who wasted my time, and money.
By the way, even though the Taylor Swift Easter Eggs brought this book, author, and movie to my attention . . . it was the movie trailers and clips that enticed me to get the book. They looked fun as hell, and I was expecting that to be in the book. It is not.

That is exactly the reason why I finally gave up on one of the books I've been reading forever; I actually found the main character and other minor characters so obnoxious, I couldn't go any further....although, I know they'll redeem themselves in the end. It is, after all, a fairy tale, and aren't they all supposed to live happily ever-after in fairy tales. Sort of. Written for children, but also as a satire in favor of Darwin's theory of evolution. The book was "The Water-Babies, A Fairy Tale for a Land Baby" by Charles Kingsley, written in 1863, a novel-length children's classic. It is a gorgeous reprinting that I picked up at an antique mall, mainly because doing all those 2-minute Halloween drills, every year it seemed to come up in articles with titles like "the creepiest children's stories ever written" or "what stories gave you nightmares as a kid". The illustrations are definitely creepy-as-hell...and the story is creepy also in a is-this-really-a-children's-book kind of way. Not enough to keep me plodding through it, though.
Still reading the other book I was struggling to finish for different reasons, but put that one on the back burner for now, and have been reading some Irish folklore and myths, and a really cool old history on costumes.

Itching to do some rereading. The characters are still in my head, and they won't shut up.
