Christian by China Crisis.
I was very much into 80's synth-pop and loved this song when it was released. Hadn't heard or thought of it in years until on Monday, I found myself humming it. Since then it's been irremovably stuck in my mind. I still love it.

Hhmmm...I can't say I've ever heard of "Christian" or China Crisis, not that I can remember, anyway.
But speaking of oldies, Hubs and I had a kind of mellow oldies song-a-thon the other day - stuff from the 70s, (or maybe from the 60s but we remember them growing up in the 70s). "Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In", "One Tin Soldier", "Billy Don't Be a Hero", "The Night Chicago Died", "That's the Night that the Lights Went Out in Georgia" - one song kept rolling into another.
"Age of Aquarius" is the only one that keeps coming back in my head - and I still remember every single word....and all the hand-motions too. We had to sing it in a school concert when I was in the third grade.

Nope. Never heard the song.
It reminds me though, of another band from the U.K., this one much more current - not the singing, but the music. The 1975 is a band the girls introduced to me, probably when LX was in college, and I'd pop in a C.D. from them on the way to pick her up to come home - great driving music.
Even looking up a couple of songs to post here, I got lost in listening to a ton of them.

Urgh! "Puff the Magic Dragon" by Peter, Paul, and Mary.
Hubs' irritating song of the day...sometime last week. It's still stuck.

Everybody Hurts - Either the ELO original or the version by the Corrs. It feels like a lot of people how been in need of that song recently.

I don't know if it's the same song you're talking about (I haven't heard of the Corrs), but R.E.M. has a song which was very popular in the 90s titled "Everybody Hurts" - very soulful and consoling lyrics.
It's an interesting coincidence (considering where you live) that the video was filmed in San Antonio. Another coincidence - this one chilling (because my mind immediately went to the families of the school shooting victims not too far from you), is in the video, people's thoughts while stuck in a traffic jam, run across the screen. One of them is 'if only I had a gun'.

Yeah, it's the R.E.M. song - I don't think ELO ever did a version. I like the Corrs version with the female lead - thanks for sharing.

Stuck in my head for at least a week - "Ecstasy of Gold". I didn't even know the name of it until I drilled "the Modelo beer commercial song". And I only drilled Modelo because I didn't even know what the product name of the latest commercial to use "Ecstasy of Gold - it's a weird-ass cologne commercial that irritates me in that "WTF even is this?" way.
But I love the song - an instrumental. Was surprised to find out it was the theme song in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" - or maybe it shouldn't be surprising since I neither like Westerns or am not particularly fond of Clint Eastwood movies in general.
"Ecstasy of Gold" in both the Modelo and the cologne commercials is a remix of the Ennio Morricone original - the newer version is by Bandini. I quite like it.
The cologne commercial. Eh.

I've always loved that song. Strange commercial though. But reminds me of almost getting run over yesterday. I somehow pulled out in front of a car that seemed to appear out of nowhere. I was coming up on the highway. The road straight across is empty. I see no other cars on my side of the road at all, and I didn't see any cars to my left as I turned right onto the highway. And then a car is next to me on the left side swerving away from me and around me, and speeds off down the road in front of me. I quickly take my foot off of the gas and tap at the brakes, and wave my hands in the air, "Sorry! Sorry!" I still don't know where it came from. How did I miss it? I don't remember seeing a car behind me, but could it have pulled out behind me and decide to pass me while at it? I took my time getting up to 55, and they were already way ahead of me. I'm just glad no car was coming from the other lane. I love my car, and they don't sell Honda Fits in the US anymore. Or not in my area they don't. Not sure if I could order one if I ever need a new car. Still, thrilled not to have had my first wreck.
