The tag on the next gift out of the bag reads Siren. Wow! Check out the fancy wrapping on this one; it's almost too pretty to tear into. But go ahead, Siren. "On the 18th, Siren got this autographed book: (click on image)"

Holy cow! How cool is that? *tipping gift box so all can see* It's an autographed copy of Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath" - an excellent gift for an Okie. My dad, the son of tenement farmers like those in the book, was born in California.
Thank you, Secret Santa - I must've been less naughty than I thought!

A quick stop in to drop off Scrappy's second gift.
"Dear Scraps,
For your second gift, I am sending you 10 buckets of sunshine to sprinkle wherever you are. Use them on a gloomy day or when your heart needs a little brightening. I am also sending 1 bucket of summer rain and you must use it on a sunny day and throw it down where it makes a large puddle. Jump up and down in it ..and watch the drops sparkle in the sun.
Happy Days"
Oooo, sounds like a good one, Scrappy. Enjoy.

Mme. Elf,
Alas, you shall be missing from our ranks as of the 21st? 22nd? till the fruitcake comes home? When do we need to send our presents and to whom? I've done 2 and with mucho help from scrapgold and provided the creek don't rise, I have three gifts left to give.
I am so confused. Bamboozled even.
Maeve

Never fear, Maeve. Us Elves always have a plan, (writes note to self to get a plan). I'm leaving the evening of the 21st. Please send all your packages leading up to, and for that day to me. I'll get everything posted before I leave.
I've deputized Scrappy as Deputy Elf Moppet, (how do you think all those gifts that ended up in those pretty packages ended up so pretty?). She readily accepted the job; I enticed her with a gold star.
The last day, send the gifts to Scrappy and she'll post them. This ok with you, Deputy? As for her last gift, she'll just have to get it a day early. I'll drop it off before I leave. Cuz it's no fun seeing your own gift before it's delivered, Moppet, no matter how much you try to bribe me with chocolate.
Did I mention how much Elves like chocolate?

I will be soooooo styling at the OU softball and soccer games in those cool shades. Or perhaps I'll wear them indoors when I'm trying to go unnoticed by autograph seekers. *eye roll*
Thanks, Santa!

You are always stylin', Dear Stylin' Siren.
Easy on the drinking, Katina....or is that easy on the reading. Don't want to trip over you lying on the floor whilst I drop off these presents. Those damned curly at the toes elf shoes they make us wear, (part of the elfin uniform, you know), make it damned hard to walk straight. Oh, who am I kidding; I trip over dust bunnies.
Leafsoup - have the happiest of holidays, and don't forget to check back here when you return for the rest of your presents.
Speaking of presents, I better present them while I'm taking a break from making mine presentable.

And one for Maeve... Smash it to see what's inside. Or click on it; but I'd bet you'd rather have a smashing good time. And may I say, you look particularly smashing tonight. Oh wait; that's Siren, and she's not smashing, she's stylin'. Yes, yes...the Elf is hushing up now, and getting back to work.

For Leafsoup...and this may come handy on your trip - depending on how fast you wanna get there.
"Clear highways ahead. No pokey cars in front of you, making you wish you could mow them down. No cars next to yours with the occupants staring oddly at you while you sing loud enough to make your windows rattle. Just smooooth motoring wherever the highway takes you."

And for the lovely culinary delights deprived X-Virgin:
"a case of Miracle Whip".
I think that's it for today; I hope I got everyone's gift. <checking my list twice> Katina, Maeve, Siren, Leafsoup, Scrappy, X-Virgin...yep, day two is finished.
Day Three tomorrow.
Bet you didn't know Elves could count, didja?

Time enough between errands to drop off another gift.
Scrappy's Santa leaves her:
"Dear Scraps,
Today for your holiday gift ...you have been sent an invitation to the Grand Double D Ball! All the other Double D ladies in the land will be invited and the lavish party will begin promptly at 7:00.
Your gift for the Grand Double D Ball will arrive in a horse drawn carriage, with 6 glowing white horses outfitted in silver harnesses and golden bells.
Upon opening the golden and silver trimmed box, you will find a diamond encrusted tiara, with the initials DD glowing brilliantly in the middle! They are so brilliant that all the other DD ladies in the land will be jealous. ..forever! After the ball your Charming will arrive at midnight to carry you home."

"a dvd of "Tootsie"
(I just caught part of that movie on T.V. recently; I'd forgotten how dang funny it is)
Hhhmmm....and that's all that's in the bag right now. You Santas didn't take too long an egg-nog and rum-ball break, did you?

Christmas is just around the corner and my sis is coming to see me during the holidays. I can not wait!! What are the holidays without dear family and friends. As we get older, it is difficult to see our family unit change...........some we lose to illness, while others move so very far away. I always wish for the "Norman Rockwell" picturesque setting. Does this really exist? Whether I have one family member to hug or ten to hug, we are all so blessed if we stop long enough to remember our "gifts".
