I don't remember who told it to me, but I guess they could have gotten it from there.

Well, here we are; it's that time again already! This has been a lot of fun for me the past two years; I hope you all have enjoyed it as much as I have.
I know people are busy this time of year, and have other things on their mind. Wondering if anyone is up for it again this year?

I understand, Tommygurl. If you change your mind, and decide to join in, you are very welcome anytime.
Elfin Poppet, you've got that deputy's star all shined, and the toes of your shoes properly curled in that elf-like way? After your years of exceptional service, you get a gift certificate for a nice long foot massage when this is over - those shoes have got to be killer on the toes.
And Siren's in too....with her gift suggestions ready!
More? Katina......? Remember....last year you got an Uma poster. Who knows what this year will bring.

Do I remember that Uma poster, does a frog eat flies?
Okay, you twisted my arm, I'm in.

Oooo, nice shoes, Poppet - built in toe-stub protectors!
So, we've got Siren, Scrappy, the ever-reluctant Katina, Joxie, and Moonglum. I'll give it to the end of the weekend (my time), to see if anyone else wants to join in. Yinyang and Vox haven't checked in yet. Maybe this'll be the year for Yinyang? Moonglum, your first assignment now that your in, is to work on Vox, (There should be a punchline after that, I'm sure of it!).
I'll draw names from my Santa's hat on Monday morning.

What a cheerful scene, Scrap! One might expect Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim to come around the corner at any moment.

That's exactly what I thought, Siren. The scene is straight out of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol - my favorite Christmas movies, (there are three versions I love), of all time.
Wonderful choice, Elfin Poppet!
Tomorrow morning I'll draw the names. Siren, I just read in the winter thread that you are going on vacation? Is there a date that works best for you to start passing out the gifts? Anyone else? We're not going out of town until the day after Christmas, so anytime works for me.

As for time.....I've got nothing but time. Well not nothing but I do have my christmas chores but other than that I'm good to go.

Ok, Santas, here we go. The names have been drawn, and pms sent. Everybody have a name? Shhhh....don't tell who it is.
Everyone gets three gifts. The first two, I will pass out, (not from the egg nog). The last you can post to reveal yourself, or send to me via pm if you aren't going to be available.
Just to recap how this works: All gifts come to me first; that way it remains secret. It works great if you send them in separate pms, with person's name who it goes to, and gift number in the subject line. "So-and-so Gift #1" and such. That way I don't get confused as to who gets what at what time. LMAO. With all the gifts and wrapping paper flying, my pm box gets to be a mess, and I'm scrambled enough as it is.
I will then send them to the wrapping department; Joxie is helping Deputy Elf Poppet again this year, (can't have Poppet wrapping her own gift now, can we?) Joxie and Poppet - you can wrap the gifts you are giving, but I still need them back so I can post them. That may seem obvious to you, but it's morning, I need more coffee, and I'm trying to talk this through to myself to make sure I cover everything. When they are beautifully wrapped by our beautiful wrappers and back in my pm box, I will dole them out here: one gift to each person each day.
Did I miss anything? Besides where I left my brain, of course.
Oh, yes.....the date to begin. "Shopping" can begin now, but I still would like to wait to pass the gifts out until I hear when everyone is available. Hopefully schedules will coincide so no-one figures out who is giving to who until the end.
While were waiting.....Elfin Poppet, can we have some munchies? All that work made me hungry.

*quietly peeking in and looking around for the Powers that Be and the Grand Pubaw Elf* Since I just couldn't get myself together to shop and do the Santa-thingy, I am pretty handy when it comes to throwing a party... I can do tricks... ... I know lots of Christmas tunes... ...I have enough decorations to go around the world... ... and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who knows exactly how Santa like his lentils... !! I'll help anyway I can...if any help is needed...??

Wow! I asked for munchies - I thought maybe a plate of cookies, or a candy cane or two. Instead, there's a virtual-in-the-cyberspacesque-sense-of-the-word feast! You've outdone yourself, Elfin Poppet.
Dang, I forgot what I was going to say...(Hiccup!).....musta been the cocktails. Last thing I remember, I could have sworn I heard a cow singing....
"We wish you a Mooey Christmas...."
and...
"Hark! The herd of Angus sing...."
Then it turned into the Nightmare Before Christmas, because I was knee-deep in lentils! "Deck the halls with bowls of lentils", the cow started singing. I think I should lay off the cowtails, (Hic!), oops, I mean cocktails, this early in the morning.
Now, what was it I was going to say? Ah, yes....the date. I'll start passing out the gifts on Friday. Gift One on Friday to each person; Gift Two on Saturday; Gift Three on Sunday. That should give everyone enough time, yes? I hope it doesn't interfere with real life holiday plans. If it does, please let me know, and we can push it up a bit.

Thanks for the assignment, boss! I have to admit, that look of sheer deilight on Santa's face when she found her pot of lentils was worth a million bucks! She pretends like she would rather have my homemade split pea soup, but I know she has a taste for my Rosemary lentils! Now for some holiday music...altho I'm not sure anyone will be able to hold a melody with all that Christmas cheer flowing.

Split-pea soup! <shudder> I thought I'd wandered into the Halloween thread by mistake. But then I heard the carolers....ahhh....how pretty. I love Christmas music....whether sung by carolers, or Christmas cows.....anyone but can't-carry-a-tune me, (cocktails or no cocktails).
Only two more shopping days left, Santas.

Only two more shopping days left, Santas. You mean I only have two more days of panic left Lady P ........ oh how delightful. Gotta say everyone is doing a great job, the tree looks fantastic, the eats and drinks look mouth watering, and we even have music, decorations "and" a snowball juggling snowman, what more could anybody ask.

And don't forget the Christmas Singing Cow, Katina! Is there a story behind that, I wonder - I've never heard a cow sing.
And I'll echo you - everyone is doing a great job. The first round of gifts have been sent to our lovely elves, and I got to take a peek at them before they're wrapped. Wonderful stuff, and I can't wait to pass them out!
Not to send you into another panic, Katina.
