"Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis" both will begin their runs in syndication in the United States the weekend of September 19, according to gateworld.net.
Since many local stations air hit shows during the weekend, most viewers can expect to see them on the weekend of September 24 or 25. Both shows will be seen in 16:9 letterboxed widescreen format.
Entering the show's eighth season, "SG-1" will kick off with "New Order," the two-hour premiere. Episodes will air in the order they appeared on the SciFi Channel after that, with "Lockdown," "Zero Hour," "Icon," "Avatar," "Affinity," Covenant," "Sacrifices" and "Endgame" appearing in sequence until the week of November 21.
During the 2004 to 2005 broadcast season, "SG-1" was the highest-rated dramatic hour in syndication syndication during the 2004-2005 broadcast season.
Making its debut in syndication following a very successful year on SciFi Channel, "Atlantis" will begin with "Rising," the two-part series premiere. Like "SG-1," episodes of "Atlantis" will air in order. After the premiere, the episodes "Hide and Seek," "Thirty Eight Minutes," "Suspicion," "Childhood's End," and "Poisoning the Well" will appear until the week of October 31.
With the beginning of a new season, the broadcast rights to seventh season episodes for "SG-1" return to the SciFi Channel, so fans should expect to see them join the weekday and "Stargate Monday" airings. Season eight of "SG-1" and "Atlantis" season one episodes will not return to SciFi until the fall of 2006 at the earliest.
It's important to check your local listings for the time and station. Check local listings for the time and station in your town! Due to the unpredictable nature of syndication sales, "SG-1" and "Atlantis" may air on different channels.
On the SciFi Channel, "SG-1" episodes "Prototype" and "The Fourth Horseman, Part 1" will be shown on SciFi Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT. "Stargate Atlantis" will not appear that evening. The following week, September 23, it will be "Stargate Atlantis" airing two hours, with "Aurora" and "The Lost Boys" running from 8 to 10 p.m.
