'Heroes' still strong for NBC Wednesday, October 18 2006, 10:11 BST - by James Welsh
Heroes has remained a solid performer in NBC's Monday night lineup on its latest outing, according to Nielsen Media Research numbers.
The network started well at 8 with Deal Or No Deal winning the hour with 17.3m viewers and a 14% share in the 18-49 demographic. ABC's Wife Swap was up week-on-week, placing second with 9.4m viewers and a 10% 18-49 share. Comedies on CBS came a close third with 9m viewers and a 9% 18-49 share.
CBS moved ahead at 9pm, with Two and a Half Men and The New Adventures of Old Christine averaging just shy of 15m viewers and an 11% 18-49 share for the hour. Heroes beat CBS in the demo with a 13% share, but fell short in terms of total viewers with 13.1m. ABC's The Bachelor dropped a percentage point from its lead-in in 18-49, but built to 9.9m viewers in total.
At 10pm, CBS remained in the lead with CSI: Miami averaging 17.6m viewers and a 14% 18-49 share. ABC's What About Brian placed second with 8.3m viewers and a 9% 18-49 share, way up on last week, while NBC's Studio 60 slumped week-on-week, averaging 7.8m viewers and an 8% 18-49 share.
A cancelled Mets-Cardinals match-up resulted in Fox scrambling to find a primetime lineup for the evening; it settled on two hours of House re-runs, which averaged around 4.5m viewers.
The CW had a good evening, with its reshuffled Monday lineup of Girlfriends and Everybody Hates Chris averaging 3m viewers and a 4% share in adults 18-49.
