I'm definitely not logging in at my bank's site through Explorer. Now, what was I telling you yesterday, Jox? Always good advice. Does this mean I'm safe with XP? So it's actually possible to embed code into images? I got all kinds of error messages for months while trying to use ezboard. Translation: As much as it sucks, and as much as I like my colored IE scrollbars, maybe we should all switch to Nutscrape, uh, Netscape.

I still have my anti-virus on high... and I put my browser on high, but moved it back to medium cause I can't see the buttons and such on this board. I don't go to banking sites... or the others they named anyway.
I saw on Call For Help where you can embed/hide all kinds of things in images.... and it barely increases its size. I'd link to the info, but the new company that took over and cancelled the show also took down the website with all that great info they put out. Jerks!

It sounds like turning your browser security on high also turned off your javascript. My browser settings are on medium too, but I customized it to allow, disallow, and prompt for various things.

I have FireFox, but I still use IE mostly... otherwise I can't see Le's treats in several of my "haunted" threads. If I did online banking, however, I'd only use FF for that and never IE.

I've been using Mozilla FireFox primarily, but sometimes come here with IE. Not only is IE full of security holes, but it sometimes crashes when I try to post, wiping out the clipboard right along with it – which means that any text I copy will no longer be in memory for me to paste. If I don't have my post typed up on NotePad or WordPad when IE crashes, I have to type the whole thing over again.
So all in all, Mozilla is better for both stability and security, while IE is buggy and bad for security. And with Microsoft's SP2, their "security features" are such an irritation that people might be tempted to turn them off.

Where do I get this Mozilla? My curser is running away from me, applications are opening and closing all over the screen and I have no control but to just sit and watch it all! ProBoards recommends it's boards be best viewed in IE otherwise you don't get to see all everything on the boards. I've been working with a microsoft tech and they stopped answering me with the stuff I've been showing them. Heck I can't even go to MSN and upload pictures because an add takes over the screen and I can't get out of the ad. It locks the screen and you can't even hit the X close page. You have to shut down. It's farking ridiculous. Irene

Sounds to me like you either have a virus or one of those ads that takes over your browser...
You can download FireFox here.
Have you done an antivirus scan... or scanned with spybot or adaware?

Yea, I did an antivirus scan. I usually have a syste suite virus update each day but there wasn't one today. So maybe that's part of it. I can't use adaware or that stuff because it disables my firewall! I'll go look at this mozilla. Hope it's easy to use and load or whatever. Thanks! Irene

OMG! I'm back and I'm on Firefox. The lettering on the board and such looks like a smaller shot.
This is certainly different. I transferred all my bookmarks over too.
Keeps fingers crossed. Going to go check out MSN and see how it acts.
Oh, where's all the smileys? Their gone the ones over to the letf!

Yeah... You lose a lot of the bells and whistles with Mozilla...
You can click on "View" and then "Increase" or "Decrease" Text Size... or you can click on "Tools"... "Options"... "General"... "Fonts & Font Colors"

I did figure out the increase text. I'm back on IE. You know it didn't make any difference on Firefox for The MSN groups. Actually it wanted my net passport password and I don't even remember the user name or password. It just usually lets me in automatically under IE. All I have to do is press "sign in". Not so on Firefox. It's still a mess the pages. So I don't know what's going on. Maybe when I signoff and restart more will take effect. Irene

You can set up FireFox so that it remembers your passwords... but it doesn't communicate with IE, so you'll have to sign in the one time so that it will have the information to sign you in next time.

I've read to never set up to remember your password. So I'm not going to do that. This Mozilla isn't any better than IE. I'm still having the same intrusions ... They are mostly on yahoo and MSN and I don't like that things are missing on message boards Just got my automatic updates for my firewall but I don't think that helped.. Oh well I'm still online. For that reason, I added a link at the bottom of the forum when I originally added custom smileys. It's directly under the navigation bar. That reminds me. I should update that thing asap to add Whoosher, etc. Did you ever fix your original problem, Irene?
