If you use AOL's Instant Messenger, beware of clicking links contained in the IM unless you are absolutely sure your buddy sent you the link. Just because a link appears in an IM while you are chatting, it does not guarantee that the buddy you are chatting with is the one who inserted the link into your conversation. Filename: lockx.exe Description: When this infection starts it will connect to an IRC server where it will wait for remote commands to execute. Aliases: - W32/Sdbot-ADD
- Backdoor.Win32.Aimbot.aj
- Downloader-VF
Side effects: - Allows others to access the computer
- Downloads code from the internet
- Reduces system security
- Installs itself in the Registry
- Exploits system or software vulnerabilities
As of this post, no virus software is able to detect it. This means that no warning will pop up when you are infected, and you will have to remove it manually. See the following links for more information: BleepingComputer.com Sophos.com
