If you've dealt with them, comment as to how well you think you and your work was treated. Thanks.

If you come across any, Joxie, that publish nonfiction personal essays, I'd be very interested. A couple of small women's publications that I've had luck with in this genre are: www.sasee.com/and www.strutmag.com/index.phpBoth are relatively low paying; $100 per article, but welcome new writers, as well as repeat writers. Twice I've been published in Sasee, and one most recently in Strut, (that one can still be viewed in the on-line version of the magazine). Sasee responds quickly to submissions - usually within a couple of weeks; Strut I didn't hear back from until about six months later. Payment for both is upon publication. A third: www.skirtmag.com/All three sites have a submission guideline page; the essays published in the on-line versions are always interesting to read, and give a good idea of the type of writing they are looking to publish. I haven't had any luck with Skirt yet; tried twice - been rejected twice. It'd be cool to get an article accepted to that magazine this year just so I can say.... "I Strut Sasee but Silent, Sporting my short, short-story Skirt through Grand Gardens on the way to making it big." (eye-roll) Yeah, I can dream about making it big.....meantime I'm just a local gal, (Silent Sports and Grand Gardens are regional magazines - one for the upper Mid-west; the second only this part of the state). But one day.... ...of course, I may actually have to get off my butt and try.

Phalon, there are mags listed in this thread here at Whoosh:
Sites For Writers, etc.
And on my forum in the following threads:
Magazine Publishers
Sites For Writers
In the two 'Sites For Writers' threads you'll have to skim through other types of sites to find any magazine links. I think most of the mags I listed are for fiction though. Some might do both fiction and non-fiction though.
