Hi, everyone!
I am happy to introduce our new Whoosh! Community Newsletter!
When you subscribe, you will be able to stay on top of everything here, from staff changes to policy changes, to any special events we may have. If this board suffers any downtime, we will use the newsletter to announce that, too. There won't be any need to check in for announcements, because they will all come to your email inbox.
We promise not to spam your email inbox with daily messages. The whole point of this newsletter is to keep you informed, not to bombard you with messages that you would inevitably start deleting without reading. In fact, a month or more could go by between mailings, because we'll only be using the newsletter to announce what we feel is important... And you can unsubscribe at any time, if you ever choose to for any reason.
We are in the process of writing our first newsletter, which will probably be the longest one we ever send out. It will give you a rundown on some of our boards at this forum, as well as our various MSN groups. It will let you know where our backup board is, in case this one goes down for any remarkable length of time, and it will also include some staff bios, so you can get to know us better.
Be sure to subscribe today [CLICK HERE], so you don't miss out on receiving our first issue, right to your email.

Hi Gig I can't get the link to work. My crap computer is on it's last leg. Can you add me to the mailing list for the newsletter? Thanks, Julie Sorry, there's no way for us to add anyone to this group, each member must apply themselves. It's most likely set up this way so that no one can add you to their group and then spam you. Copy & paste this url into the browser's address bar and click go... see if it works for you that way.

I hope you can get it to work, Msjulier. Have you had anyone look at your computer to see what's wrong with it?

I did a recovery on my computer and just signed up using my other email so I'm signed up. Think my computer is good for another 100 miles

I'm glad you got that taken care of. What was wrong with it?

It would take up to 9 minutes before it would even get to the desk top; then when I got on line it would freeze and I'd have to start all over. Also, when I type, it would miss letters and was jerky. I've used the system recovery before and everything was here when I came back on but, this time when I came on I was back to AOL 6 instead of 8 and after talking to AOL, I had to reinstall 8. over 5 hours. And, just what you told me about changing computers; save the stuff in my filing cabinet; it's all gone. Then I realized my password to here was gone, and thankfully you have a system to retrieve the password. It's now written down and pinned on my bulletim board. oh, and all my pictures are gone too.

If this is the 2nd time you’ve had to restore, then it sounds like you need a new computer... or at least a removable hard drive so you can back everything up in case you have to restore again. I’m sorry to hear about all your lost files and the aggravation you had to go through.

Sorry about the wait, but... It's finally here! I just sent out the 1st issue of our newsletter, so if it's not in your inbox, check your junk mail and put it on your safe list, so it can arrive in your inbox the next time. Oh, and I missed a spot in my editing: Seeing as September is over, that should have said October. I hope you all find some interesting stuff in there!

Yea, Argo brought it. So are you gonna go there and peddle it? Of course you have to talk about the show a bit in order to peddle it. I guess that would look too obvious a new registered handle suddenly appearing with that message. I'd get lamb basted again in my private mail. Irene ;D

Hmmm... what was the title of it? I didn't get anything. If the title of the email wasn't eye catching i probably deleted it.
Aye, you have to be member of MSN? MSN and my computer don't get along very well. It hates passport and hotmail.

When a newsletter is sent out, it also is posted on the message board... so you can read it by just "dropping by" as a guest.

Hi Jenn MSN has been glitchy for me at times too, and ironically seems to be worse with IE. Have you ever tried going there with a different browser? I've grown quite fond of Mozilla Firefox lately, because it's more stable and doesn't close itself when I try to make a post or send an email. If only the inverted colors in the House of Whoosher would work in Mozilla. Like Jox said, if you can get there, you can read the newsletter on the group's board.

Did anyone hear about Christopher Reeves? He died last night at the age of 52. I dont know if iM allowed to post this or not. If not im sorry. He was very inspiring with the stem cell project that will cure alot of things like Lupis, and other things. My sister has Lupis so I am really pulling for the stemcell project. Like I said if im not suposed to post this im sorry.

And to the right you'll see:
Click on "New Thread" to start a new thread, or "New Poll" to start a new poll.

You're very welcome, Freebird.
You can practice making threads and such on the Help board... if you create a thread there that worked out well and you want to keep it, we can move it to the board where you wanted it to go. And if it didn't go well, you can delete it.

Server 33 has been down a couple of times within in the last two days... I sent out announcements to alert members to the board being down, and then again when it came back online... if you'd like to get such announcements, you will need to join this Newsletter group. Thanks.
