I want to start my own website. Anyone have any ideas on where I can begin?

Le had set up a board to teach us how to create our own websites, but, before she could "open" it to the public, she was sidetracked by her phone line being disconnected. The board is still hidden for now, but when she gets reconnected I'm sure she'll unhide it and start the lessons.

Anyone have any good free sites to recommend? Freewebs is pretty good, but only allows 50 files, which includes each page, picture, and other files. I found a couple of other so-so providers (I'll have to look those up again), but I remember not being too thrilled with those either (for reasons I can't remember after more than 2 months). After deciding on a provider, I was going to put a tutorial on a website, then let people ask questions in the (currently hidden) forum. But instead of writing my own tutorial, I think I'll refer everyone to HTML Goodies, and just concentrate on the forum. What do you all think? Tony, have you decided on a theme for your site?

GIG! ;D ;D ;D Good to have you back! I missed you!
Anyhoo, I actually chose freewebs before you mentioned it, I like what they have to offer. What I'm doing is making an online autograph album. I'm scanning all my autographs to share with everyone rather than just have them collect dust. It's pretty easy, just time consuming, it will be a while before it's done.

I missed you too, Tony! It's great to be back! An autograph site sounds like a good idea. How many autographs do you have?
