Well worth the wait, Red, as always. Reading the beginning though, made me realize how long it's been since we've last heard from you. Hoping you don't wait that long until the next one!
And hello to Gabby, Trix and the rest of the bards.

Why, hello Red! I feel like I was out somewhere and just bumped into you again after not having seen you around town. Thank you for your post - always a good read when you write.
Sumire, what shall we do now?
GABS! I am so glad that college is going well but I am even happier that you are still out there reading.....when you have time I know youe will write.
Phalon......spring is coming to the Lakes, I can feel it in the air! Do you??

Definately, Zena! Fifty degrees today, and we walked downtown for the "Ice Breaker" festival. Lots of ice sculptures, and chili-tasting and such. Unfortunately, the sculptures, which normally last for weeks are already starting to melt!
The ice rink though is cooled from beneath, and it's been a perfect day for skating - no bulky clothing to impede my Dororthy Hammel impression, (remember her?), my childhood ice-skating idol.
Supposed to get another wintery blast this week though, but we'll see. Little Xena is still waiting for the first snow day off school this year. A fog delay last week, but not the same, I guess.

ARGH! Dang it, I want to write something! Late December since I've posted in the Scrolls, and I'm getting itchy typing fingers.
Since my character is in a lull in the other story, and I've been waiting for Gabbin's post here until I continue, and I've about exhausted some other threads with long mundane posts, I'm stuck with a desire to write, but nothing to write about.
I think maybe a post running in place, (one of Phalon's mind trips, perhaps), is in order so I can at least write something - anything.
Gabbin, are you listening? Freida's been standing there with her mouth agape for far too long. It's unbecoming and she'll catch flies that way.
So off to conjur up some type of dreamscape for my dear friend, the seeress to have while she awaits the next move of the blind weaver.

Gosh Phalon, I was hoping for more of those wonderful images of Phalon trying to fit in at home: tripping on her dress, cutting the bread with her sword "because it's sharper than the bread knife", getting "images" from the Amazon debris that must have been left when we moved on. Did Apollo sit silent as his cat and friends left town? And what of Xendra? Where is she?
What do you think?

Oooo, Zena! Getting images from the Amazon debris left behind! I hadn't thought of that, and ideas forming! And yes, I'm not quite ready to give up on my poor girl's ineptness at domestic tasks and her trouble blending in with village life - just too fun to write.
Though I can't have her traipsing off to do those things with Frieda still at the door having just brought the child in - unless I write Phalon out of the scene. Don't quite want to do that yet, because Gabbin's got some good ideas, (and we've been cooking up a way to set things afire in the future). I know you're busy Gabbin, and no rush, (didn't I say that like a month ago?)
I think I've got an idea forming in that pretty little empty head of mine, and see if I can't get something out this weekend.
As for Xendra - I think Gabbin effectively wrote her out of the scene by having her wander off into the woods to ponder her role in all of this Vania business, to return if or when Xie ever decides to pick it up again.
Good weekend to all.

I thought this was cute, and certainly applies, I think, to each of the bards here occasionally, (and certainly me, at the moment) Writer Waiting
On this shiny new computer - There just isn't nothin' cuter. It knows everything the world ever knew. And with this great computer I don't need no writin' tutor, 'Cause there ain't a single thing that it can't do. It can sort and it can spell, It can punctuate as well. It can find and file and underline and type. It can edit and select, It can copy and correct, So I'll have a whole book written by tonight (Just as soon as it can think of what to write.)

Cute poem Phalon. Is that from "Where The Sidewalk Ends"?
I seem to work best when I'm writing off of a partner. In another life I was probably part of a team of writers who wrote situation comedies: "Everyone Loves Evergreen", or "All In The Amazon Family", "The Golden Greek Girls", "Caesar Knows Best", "I Love Zena", or Phalon as the "Medium". My best were the soap operas, "As The Scroll Unrolls", "The Guiding Torch", "Furies of Our Lives".
Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Little Xena loves "Where the Sidewalk Ends", but this poem is from another of her favorites, "Falling Up".
Oh, and Zena with a Z, don't forget, "Sumire for Tomorrow", "Bhen Rudha's Hope", or "the Bold and the Battle-scarred".

One and a Half Centaurs - hmmm, no I haven't seen it, and am having a hard time picturing which half is the half. Cut right down the centaur? Thanks for the heads up, and it sounds like quite the tail. I'll half to catch it next time it's on.

Cool! I've not yet been on a cruise. More advice: Don't lean over the railing... and if you do, make sure there's no one around to shove you on over.

Zena is truly sailing away...I asked if there was a large eye on the bow of the ship and would she actually see Xena swinging from the mast on her way down to Gabby upchuking over the side...do you think they will serve raw squid? I will miss you friend. Safe journey ...
I seems forever and a day since I have visited the scrolls...perhaps Evergreen is having way too much fun in the vineyards making wine. ;D
I did a little catching up...great post all! I hope life is treating all of you and yours well.
BTW: Zena or Phalon...which one of you wrote ER/BC... CSI Potaedia...Desperate House Harpies.

Zena. Enjoy!!!! Take care. Why am I suddenly picturing you all bluish/green with that sea-goddess air about you?
Hey, Evergreen. Glad to see you check in, and wondering if Evergreen is becoming as used to domestic life as Phalon?
Gabbin - Thanks! Gives me something to write without having to think too hard. A good thing, as my brain is mush from being cooped up with two sick girls for what seems like days and days. Excuse me if Dora the Explorer-isms, Oh Maaa-nnn, escape my head and end up in my next post - they seems to be ever-present in my brain right now.

Sounds like a grand time, Zena. Glad you made it home safe and sound, (and probably to a boat-load of snow too, fellow Great Lake dweller pal of mine). Missing the sun and warmth yet? Look forward to hearing more of your adventure.
And speaking of adventure...Trix - Sumire sure is having one with that horse, eh? Fun to read. Nice she's got her trouble reined in and under control now, though.
Hopefully, I'll get to the second part of my post sometime soon before I forget where I was going with it.

I was hoping to get a post in before Zena got back. Looks like I juuuust made it. ^^ Sounds like you had a grand time! Welcome back!
Glad you liked Phalon n' Joxie. Looking forward to yours! But of course, no pressure from me! ;D ;D

I'm working on my "Whoosher" post right now... then maybe I can just make myself keep on going until I finish the "Scrolls" post.
[Edit Mode]
Okay.... I have 128 words of the post so far... I completely changed what I was going to write. I was going to have Trenna leave the hospice and strike out for parts unknown, but decided I'd wait and do that when Zena is closer so that I won't be far off when she finally arrives to drop off the "demented one".

Joxie: Oh yoy! Go Joxie Go Go! Nice one. I love the last line especially.
Phalon: Eep! A cliff hanger!! <bounces up and down> I gotta go make some popcorn now for the next post! Is it a part 3 mebee? Will it be Frieda Rose be making the next post? Oh, the suspense~!

And then....take it away, Frieda!

Sigh...such an easy little post this last one was to be. "Frieda goes ballistic", and I had it all set in my head when I sat down to write. Nothing going - I found it very difficult to write a timid blind weaver "going ballistic" without it sounding way over the top. Even what I ended up with after toning it down sounded out of character for Frieda.
Many, many thanks to Gabbin who helped me adjust the first couple of paragraphs about 20 times, until we got it pretty close.
So not the "Frieda goes Ballistic" post it started out to be, but more of a "Frieda gets miffed". BOLL. Fun, Gabbin. Thanks again.
