I hope not - we'll never know if that's the case.

Yeah. But perhaps they've left something behind that will be found one day if they have. I've read where a neighbor disappeared and no one knew what happened to him until another neighbor made the mistake of selling his place and moving away ... and the new owners drained the pond/lake ... and found the missing neighbor.
The UnaBomber's brother discovered proof and turned his brother in years later. So there's bound to be proof out there somewhere that just hasn't been discovered yet. It could be right under someone's nose, and they just haven't realized it yet.

BP to me the other night: Mom! Watch this scary video!
Spent the next couple of minutes in the-edge-of-my-seat-nail-biting suspense.

Yeah. Saw that on Facebook. I posted that someone should put up a sign: "Nudes Only"

I don't get it, Joxie.
The kids in the video were a lot more calm than I was; my reaction was more like "Oh-my-god-oh-my-god-oh-my-god! Run, little guy, run, run, run! OH-MY-GOD!!! Poor little guy!!! Wait!!!! Run, run, run!!!!"

No, I understood what a "nudes only" sign is. But I don't get why it'd fit with the video of the snakes and lizard. (Don't you hate when someone asks you to explain your sense of humor?)
Wait. Unless your comment was in reference to the video Stepper posted?

No it was for the 'snakes on the beach' video. See, it's a beach full of snakes ... so, as a practical joke, you put up a sign that designates it as being a Nude Beach ... For Nudes Only ... and sit back and watch naked people scream and run for their cars.
See, if there's a sign that reads: Nudes Only ... _I'm_ not going to step one foot on that beach. That sign protects _me_ from setting up on a beach full of snakes, but it also gives me front roll seat to all the hilarity ... until the snakes decide to cross over to my part of the beach.

Ok, that was...frightening, and yes, I had to drill...just to be sure.
And found Erik Roner died last year in a skydiving accident.
Joxie, your Wattpad link doesn't work.

Did he? Oh, that's so sad. I didn't do any drill on him.
My link will work now. I edited the link in my profile and added an _ between the first and last names so people would be able to read it better. I forgot to fix it here.

I think this may explain a lot about all the recalls coming from Chinese products:

BP recently - it might have even been last week - mentioned the plastic rice thing. I wonder now if she watched the same video - this past weekend she was scrambling eggs and asked why eggs from the grocery store are bigger and all look the same as one another; the eggs we get from Crazy Cheryl are smaller and have green, brown, or speckled shells. Different breeds of chickens, My Dear.
I stopped buying shredded cheese because of her, actually. Every time I put in the grocery cart, I'd have to listen to her nagging about how sawdust (not quite - it's really wood pulp) is added to it, until I said, what the hell, I'll just buy cheese in block form, and she can shred it herself. Of course, I'm the one that usually ends up doing so.

WHAT! There's wood pulp in my shreddy cheese!? Bastards. I won't be able to eat anything soon.
Had an interesting discussion with my 14 year old nephew last night. He asked my how they kill cows for the meat industry. i told him. Should have seen the look on his face.

Spock: I saw the Temple Grandin movie. It would be nice if every slaughterhouse implemented her technique, but I doubt that will be the case. Might help if people only bought meat from those who were humane. There is a difference between big market slaughterhouses, and smaller ones. I know local people who once owned a small "mom & pop" slaughterhouse, and live in a community full of local farmers. Not everyone mistreats the animals. So, it was a shock to see the horrible videos once I got online.
Phalon: I stopped buying shredded cheese when you mentioned that in the past. And you spoke against processed cheese, but I haven't yet figured out a substitute for my beloved American slices. Plus, I don't know the difference between real cheese and processed cheese. I never really read the packages. Gotta do that too, I guess.

Oh, sorry to burst your shreddy cheese bubble, Scrappy! But yeah, there's wood pulp in there - it keeps the shreds from sticking together. It also adds weight to the package, so you're getting less actual cheese in a 1 pound package than if you bought a 1 pound block of cheese. If you want to look at the bright side, you're getting more fiber; wood pulp is also in products that are advertised as having "added fiber". BP has been disgusted with the meat industry since watching "Food, Inc." a couple of years ago; she hasn't really liked eating meat since, and a lot of the times when we have meat, especially beef, with dinner, she'll cook something else for herself. We get a lot of our beef, chicken and eggs from Crazy Cheryl, and though it's not organic, the cows and chicken have run of the farm, and are treated humanely. She slaughters the chickens herself, but takes the cows to a local slaughterhouse like the ones Joxie mentioned. If I do buy meat at the grocery, most of the time I buy the free range stuff. Watching Leonardo Dicaprio's latest environmental documentary "Before the Flood" over Thanksgiving weekend though, send her over the edge; the methane gases from the livestock industry are a big contributor to global climate change. She is eating vegetarian now. I don't think that processed cheese is necessarily bad, Joxie - I personally don't like it because it tastes plastic to me. I think my point at the time was that there was more to cheese than American and Velveeta which were the only things Stepper considered as cheese. Processed cheese does have a lot of other stuff in it that natural cheese doesn't, many of it preservatives (for example, processed cheese will dry out, but it doesn't mold). Natural cheese is just milk, salt, and an enzyme for curdling. Processed cheese product on the other hand, is hardly cheese at all, (Velveeta, for example). Here's a simple explanation of the difference: goldenagecheese.blogspot.com/2011/05/what-are-primary-differences-between.htmlIf your grocery store has a deli, ask them to sample some of the different cheeses in the deli case.

Thanks for the link. I'll save it for later, it's getting late I should get offline. It wasn't just your comment on the processed cheese, I saw a video on YouTube, and it has me thinking. I never much cared for Velveeta, though I have eaten it when others used it in stuff. I just really like the individual wrapped slices of American cheese. I've seen the big blocks of it in the Deli, is it the same or different?
I do get the hot/pepper jack cheese at the deli whenever I get baked ham. Haven't tried any of the other cheeses they have. Maybe I will. I'm assuming the individually wrapped swish cheese is also processed, but not if I get it from a block in the deli? Kraft American is the only cheese I use in Mac & Cheese, on hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Maybe I'll get more creative. I saved several M&C recipes that call for other kinds of cheeses, maybe I'll finally live dangerously and give them a try.
Great! Now I'll have to stop buying the Kraft Parmesan cheese and get the real stuff to grate fresh. Seems it contains wood pulp too. If I wanted to eat wood, I'd have been born a termite.

All American cheese is processed cheese, but there is a difference between the individually wrapped slices and the deli blocks. The individual slices are made from a liquid poured between the plastic and rolled flat; it solidifies between the plastic. The blocks at the deli have a firmer texture, don't have that plastic-looking shine, and have less additives. Imagine if the individually wrapped Kraft American cheese slices were in block form - would it be able to be sliced sandwich thin? Probably not - it's not firm enough.
That depends. Swiss cheese that is packaged in individually wrapped slices and has that same consistency as American cheese slices is processed cheese; it'll say so on the package. Swiss cheese slices that come in a package, but have wax paper between the slices most likely isn't processed cheese; the slices will have holes, and the package will say 'natural cheese', 'real cheese', or 'unprocessed cheese'. The big blocks of Swiss at the deli is natural cheese.
I still buy the stuff in the canister to sprinkle on spaghetti and pizza. If I'm using Parmesan cheese in a recipe though, I buy a wedge and grate it myself - it tastes different, better I would say, with a stronger cheese flavor than the powdery stuff.
