You better run out and get your lifetime supply of popcorn, Stepper, cuz you'll be waiting a looooong time, my friend. I honestly can't remember what month they were filming, but I know it was freezing out; even The Vain Ones (LX and her friends) didn't attempt to get their 15 minutes of fame in on that day, and most of them would kill to be seen nationwide in their bathing suits. Me? HA! Be seen in a bathingsuit? On the big screen? You better get two lifetime supplies of popcorn. This is bugging me, Siren. Based on the flowers alone, I'd say New Jersey Tea. www.illinoiswildflowers.info/prairie/plantx/nj_teax.htmThe leaves though, don't look right to me. Whatever it is, the photos are gorgeous!

Thanks for the detective work, Gams! My mom says she definitely needs one of those butterfly-friendly bushes. Here's a neat slideshow of couples who had just gotten married at NYC's city hall. Makes me happy, just looking at their happiness. www.refinery29.com/city-hall-wedding-style

My Mom could have easily wrote that, Spock; it was her creed. It was great when she'd come visit and the house wasn't quite as tidy as it should be: "I'm not coming to see your house, I'm coming to see you."
Moms are great like that....but that doesn't mean I didn't bust butt cleaning the day prior to her visit.

Someone added to it in a comment, "Dirty dishes also means you didn't order out!"
Whereupon I added something on the order of, "If your grass is too high does that mean you ate the goat?"

Lol! If you're in my BIL's family, Spock, you could have. He loves barbequed goat. I didn't know where to post this, so it landed in this thread. A once in 113 years astronomical event is happening tomorrow night - the transit of Venus. Our local university is hosting a viewing tomorrow night, with special sun-filtering telescopes. I can't wait to see it. Here are details: www.transitofvenus.org/

We have clouds that are expected to hang around past the Venus event. The clouds aren't doing anything constructive like raining. I guess they're keeping out the extreme heat, but they are trapping the heat there is and adding humidity so it's still not very nice out there. And no views of the sky before the weekend. There is supposed to be a chance of rain Friday - if I have to miss the Venus event, it'd better rain!

Sorry to hear that, Step. But you can watch the transit on that link above, if that's any consolation. And BTW everybody, the event is tomorrow, Tuesday, night.
Here's hoping you get some rain, Step. *fingers crossed*

Turned out that we got cloudy skies too, Step. By the time I got off work, the sun was blocked out. So, you had company in missing the fun. Some parts of the state had stormy weather. We got clouds, and just a sprinkle.

Are they still trying to find her? Wow! Is this another case of "Hide and seek gone wrong!" Sorry, couldn't help myself ...

They found something on an island that could have belonged to her - some kind of freckle stuff in a jar. I guess she hated her freckles and the jar is from the right time and is the right shape to be the stuff she used. The island is close to her targeted landing spot. Now they're going to see if they can use side scanning sonar to find the remains of her plane in the water.

You never know. They've thought they had good clues before but there was nothing found in the search. Maybe this time...

"You're in for a whole new world....of pain."
BOLL!
Fun stuff, Siren.
And with the way they remake superhero stuff nowadays, you can almost imagine those bad@ss princesses teaming up to kick some evil queen butt in a "Princesses of Pain" action movie.

Though the man's theory about the house's former owner is probably correct, it's kind of fun to speculate other reasons why the bottles were hidden in the attic. A prohibition stash? The attic mice throwing a mouse party? Teenagers whose parents came home too early? Mother's Little Helper?
What a coincidence, Spock. This past Wednesday, a man in our writing group at the library said the same thing; since he had his laptop, we watched the film.

What ever the reason, it's possible they are worth quite a bit of money.
