Sorry to hear about the Spurs Step' especially given they looked to be in the box seat. I always found it fascinating even though I never understood all the rules. That makes two of us Scamp. Well we hit a roadblock last night, beaten by one of the cellar dwellers after getting out to a massive lead then stopping to a walk in the last quarter, a goal after the siren bringing about our second defeat of the season. Two huge games coming up against the third and first placed teams, so we need to regroup in a hurry. Go Cats.

Kat, I even read a book about footie. Well, okay, I also read one cricket. While I can explain such things as leg before wicket (l.b.w.) and have even played a bit of cricket -- it looms large in English lit... and have a modicum of understanding of it, I've never managed to grasp footie. It is fun to watch, even in a state of utter confusion though. And I'm hoping like anything that the Cats rise to the occasion and emerge victorious. scamp GO CATS!!

Your hopes have come to fruition Scamp, bounced back from our unexpected loss with a totally dominant display against the side just below us, restricting them to just nine scoring shots as we powered to a forty one point victory, would have been even greater except for some poor conversion in front of goals by our boys.
Huge game tomorrow night against the top placed side, a few key players missing but I reckon we're up to the task.
Go Cats.

A forty-one point victory! Dang, that sounds impressive!
Hoping they are just as impressive in this huge upcoming game, Katina.
Go Cats!

Indeed we were Gams, a lot closer with just a ten point win, but we were against the top side, were in control for most of the match and probably should have won by a bigger margin.
Daring to dream big time now, a fourth flag in seven years looks a distinct possibility.
Go Cats.

And by 41 points, that is a point less than my beloved Bears of American footie won their miracle game last season. They won by 42 points, the Bears largest margin since they were called the "Monsters of the Midway" back in the 1940s. (Yeah, they did win their only Superbowl by a mess of points but more often the Bears' scores are like 6 to 3. You've given me hope, Kat, thanks!! GO CATS, GO!!! scamp

Is hoping for a fourth flag in seven years a bit greedy, yeah probably but who cares, I'll still be hoping for a fifth in 2014 if we get over the line this year. Go Cats, Go Bears.

Isn't there a famous line from the movie Wall Street? "Greed is Good!"
It may not apply to all things, but in this case, I don't think greed is a bad thing. (Another would be anything involving chocolate.)

There is indeed Gams, and if it's good enough for Gordon Gekko it's good enough for me, so here's to a fourth flag ........... and Willy Wonka amounts of chocolate as well; or of Johnny Depp as well I suspect (for you of course, not me ) Go Cats.

Give me some, I have no figure anyway and Johnny Depp is all Phalon's. We'll just gobble sweets and chant: Go Cats!! scamp After a surprise loss at the weekend I needed some comfort food so made a bit of a dent in the supply, but you're welcome to whatever's left Scamp. I'll replenish before next weeks game so we can go on a gobbling and chanting frenzy.

Well, man, out with it -- how did the Cats do? scamp, in a frenzy, Go Cats! Right, we bounced back from our loss with a 101 point thrashing of the Saints, who are near the bottom of the ladder having won just three games for the season, but then lost narrowly to the Kangaroos Friday night. Lost three of our past seven games after losing just one of eleven previously, with just four games to go before finals hopefully we can turn our form around. Go Cats.

Well the preliminaries are out of the way and this weekend sees the start of the finals, with the second placed Cats hosting a final for the first time at our home venue ....... www.sportal.com.au/afl/news/cats-granted-final-in-geelong-250741Win this and we have the following week off to prepare for the Preliminary final, win that and it's into the big one, the Grand Final, and the chance at four flags in seven years, but I'm gettin' a bit ahead of myself now, let's just win on Saturday first. Go Cats.

Ummm, bit behind on here. Well we lost our first final down at the cattery which meant we have to do it the hard way and win three on the trot to secure the big prize. Accomplished step one with a win Friday night and now front up to the top side this Friday night for the chance to progress to the Grand Final. A few injuries and a suspension leaves us undermanned so it's going to take a monumental effort, but this is Geelong so anything's possible ....... Go Cats.

Of course, it would have been nice to have it all wrapped up and in the bag, but doing things the hard way makes the victory all that much sweeter, Katina.
Here's to the Cats getting through round two, and on to the Grand Finale.
Go Cats!

Knocked out in the penultimate match on Friday night by a mere five points (one kick) so that's the season done and dusted unfortunatly Oh well there's always nex ............ no forget that, this was the season that counted. May feel a bit different by the time next March rolls around. ;D

Sorry the Cats are done for the season, Katina. More time, I suppose, to rest up and prepare for next season....because, you know, there's always nex.....
Go Cats!!! (in 2014...and beyond)
The Michigan Wolverines have been doing well so far this year....at least one might think so, looking at their 4-0 record. Pfft. They looked good starting off, handily winning their first game as predicted (against the college LX is attending), then went on to win a nail-biter against Notre Dame. Next two games they barely eeked out wins - games against teams they were supposed to beat easily.
Conference games start this week, (though I think they've got a bye), and it appears they'll have an uphill battle if they're going to make it to a bowl game.

Guess I should pop something on here. Footy is back (well it's been back for a month actually) Cats handed the Eagles an almighty thumping last night and currently stand at four from four and one of only two undefeated sides in the comp.
Play the other unbeaten mob next Monday.
Go Cats.

Reading back through the posts here on this last page...
Katina, were you, or have you ever thought of being a sports announcer? Your posts with their colorful descriptions of the games, remind me of the baseball game announcers my Dad used to listen to on the radio.

Thanks Gams. The way I butcher the english language I'm not sure a career in radio would be my forte to be honest, though come to think of it after listening to some of the television commentators here maybe I'd be right at home, just because you're an ex player (as many of them were) doesn't make them competent announcers (which many of them aren't ) Go Cats.

Another top of the table clash tomorrow, after knocking off the reigning premiers last week the unbeaten cats (first) take on port Adelaide (second) as we attempt to go six/zip.
Go Cats.
On another note, anyone heard from Siren?

Hope the Cats came off of that top of the table clash six-zip, Katina. Not so for the Detroit Red Wings; they amazingly made it to the Stanley Cup playoffs after a rough season, but lost their series with Boston miserably.
About Siren....I've been wondering the same thing. I miss her.
