LOVE the banner, Phalon. love where the story went in the last couple days, too. hope no one minds that I'm posting my new one. this is the first time in the last two days that I have gotten to a computer; our power was knocked out by the storm.

First thing first: Scrappy, I’m sorry for the crumpling of the leather. I will pay the dry-cleaning bill to get it straightened, and also to remove the chocolate fingerprints I left on your back. (I was finishing off the last left-over Halloween Reese’s peanut butter at bear-hug moment, and didn’t get a chance to lick my fingers first.)
It seems as if the title of the story should be changed for today from “As the Scrolls Unroll” to “As Heads Will Roll”. Beheading: topic du jour. Nice posts Aprodite and Ellie.
Just a few words about my last post, if I may. Many, many thanks to Moonglum for inadvertently leaving his ending wide open to what I saw as a perfect lead-in to Phalon’s flashback. And thank you, Kind Sir, for putting plans for the continuation of the Jason/Letitia Saga on hold for just a bit to let me get it in.
The flashback, of course, takes place in “the House of Whoosher”, although it did not appear as part of the story. It was written for the House story, but never posted, and I found it saved on an old disc about a month or so ago. With a few tweaks to fit it into the end of my role in the House, I decided to add it in here. As the different writers in the House story moved on to pursue other ventures, storylines were never finished, and left dangling. One of those writers who left to pursue other interests was Guru, whose muse is now devoted to his music.
When I wrote the beheading of Guru scene for the House story, it was written as a two-parter (as it still will be now), but the second part had a very different outcome. It was not my intent to kill the character then, but now….
Guru is dead. Period. The death of a main character is something most surely written by the creator of that character. Permission was granted for me to kill him off now, and I hope I did the character justice....or will do him justice in part two. One of those dangling storylines in the House is now complete, and the Phalon/Guru saga is over. (sort of...whenever I get around to writing the second part)

Ellie, wish you'd told me you were gonna kill someone off... especially since you killed the queen... *shrugs* but your post gave me some ideas, too. I'll run them by you when I get home from work. (*chuckles* she's still sleeping!! and I don't want to wake her cause she is SO cute! k I talk too much so that's it!

did you just... call me cute? *ahem!* don't worry so much about the timeline thing. they can catch up. it's no biggie. i tried to tell you that before. just don't jump ahead a huge amount of time, and there really shouldn't be too much of a problem. i'm looking forward to hearing your ideas.

Aphrodite, I think there are times when anyone who writes looks back on something they've written and thinks, "what the hell was I thinking when I wrote this cr@p?" No? Ok, maybe that's just me.
Not that I know what I'm doing in these stories, because frankly, I haven't a clue. I've never written fiction before in my life....but "Phalon" has been around for a while, and there's a few things I learned along the way.
I remember when Red and Trix - two of the most phenomenal writers this board has ever seen - jumped into the Zena Scrolls, I thought OMG, how am I going to ever write another post in the story again - it'll look like a page from 'Jack and Jill' is stuck into the middle of 'War and Peace'.
Cool thing about continuing on though - it's not long before you get to know your character's "voice", and it becomes second nature writing from his/her perspective. Ideas and actions are a dime a dozen, but putting it into words from a character's point of view is a whole different story. Anyone can write "he did this, and he did that", but getting the feeling behind why he did it right is more difficult. Moonglum did that beautifully with his funeral pyre post - the tears when reading weren't just because Letitia died; it was we got to feel Jason's emotions.
It's when you get to know how your character would not only react, but how she would feel toward something that the words flow easier, and the posts really start to click. At least, that how it worked for me - which is the reason I've dragged the same character through all three stories. I'm used to her....and too lazy to create and get to know another character. Blah, blah, blah. Droning on, I know, but still having loads of fun doing this story thing, and think everyone should be having as much fun as I am!
And Voxy Lady....love the banner! What's the translation if you don't mind me asking?

Just a quick heads up to all the bards. This account will ONLY be used for the Dixie/Shapeshifter character. I hope at some point to bring a close to her/him and finally tie that lose end. And then I hope to let this account fade into the sunset as it were.
Thnaks...

And another great entry from Moonglum.
Yanno, it's kinda funny. In just a short time here, all those loose ends from the Whoosher story have already, or are starting to come to a close, when for years they went unresolved in the story in which they originated.
Cool beans!
