(yeah, i have no life.) Now where have I heard that before? lol.
I joined The House just after most people had left, and spent ages working up a back story for Jason. If it's any consolation I've only really just scratched the surface so far. Actually, now that I come to think about it, the beginnings go back over 30 years.....................god, I really do need to get a life.

LOL! it's just a saying. means there are a lot of people with the same "problem." that's not quite the whole story behind that saying, Ellie. in fact, there's a definition of it on dictionary.com! lol. basically, moonglum, it means we're all in the same type of situation. the "we've got jackets," I believe, came from those old clubs that used to give jackets to their members. BTW, great post, vox.

What's the jacket logo/letter? Are the words, "I have no life!" on the backs?
Vox: I'm sure in some situations, the jackets _had_ better be 'life' jackets. And this sounds like a good time to have them.

Ooh, Phalon. I giggled the whole time I was reading. Now I gotta do a bit of backtracking, I think Joxcee sang that song in Whoosher House ... if I'm not mistaken. It's been so long ago ... I could be wrong.
Things are moving along nicely, you guys. Can't wait to see where it's going to lead.

Ah-ha!! Finally found it! One small typo I knew I had in that last post, but didn't have time right after I posted to change it. Can't say how many times I looked at that thing without finding it again. I hate when that happens.
Yanno, I wondered about that. I even tried to find it in a two-minute drill, but nothing was listed for 'traditional Amazon greeting', so I just went with it because it seemed like it might be right. <shrugs>
Nope, you are not mistaken. I remembered it because it cracked me up when you wrote it in the House of Whoosher...though I think Joxie was singing it to herself in the house. Maybe it echoed through the halls and Phalon heard it. It's always just stuck in my head, so I threw it in here.
I've always enjoyed the Joxie/Phalon encounters. I see Joxie as looking at Phalon as strange...a little bit scary maybe...but also looking at her with amusement. Phalon knows it, and plays the part to the hilt. One of the funnest posts to write in the House story was when Phalon dragged Joxie out to the cottage. She made some great display of calling the power of a storm with a bunch of sweeping arm motions and Greek chanting to bottle it and give to Joxie as a talisman. It was a bunch of cr@p; utter nonsense....and Joxie knew it...and Phalon knew Joxie knew it. Both of them played along though. It made me laugh writing it.
Keep up the good posts, people. Enjoying the read.

Very nice everyone. I've got a handwritten post, but waiting on Scrappy's okay before I type it up and add it to the thread. (No. My Merry Land post is still in my head. It's mostly narrative/exposition, and I'm trying to figure out how to make it more action oriented, with needed details added in here and there. If I can't get it figured out soon, I'll just post it as is. I seem to be doing more 'telling' than 'showing,' and I want to fix that.)

Nice post, Aphrodite. I couldn't help but be reminded of a scene in the movie "A Christmas Story" - the one involving the flagpole.
"Oh yeah. Just think about chasing rabbits. Go ahead, I dare ya. I double-dog dare you."

Phalon, I haven't seen that movie in FOREVER! coulda sworn he "skipped the double dare and went straight for the triple-dog dare," though. but, then, I have a bad memory. I'm glad you liked my post. "A Christmas Story," quite honestly, was nowhere near my thoughts when I was writing it, but whatever you got out of it, I'm ok with. I think I did pretty good for my first flashback post. your two new posts are completely awesome, Phalon. I'm sure that whatever happens next will be well worth reading.
