Yep. Yes. Yes. That's the best way. How did you know? And the vet doesn't think there's a problem? Learned or not, it's not a normal behavior. I'm sorry to hear about the bang up - you may be young enough to cope with throwing yourself into door jams and then to the floor - but I'm old enough that beating myself up isn't fun anymore. Hope the soreness and bruising both go away soon. Cats are our kids - and as I recall when I was a kid my parents strongly suggested the toilet for such activities. Of course, I was a tad more cooperative about it too. I suspect that after the third or forth adventure with cat-sick I'd be looking for alternative solutions too. And different food - the kind that combats hair balls and reduces this kind of stuff. Just imagine the stuff she's not sharing.

Hope you're unbruised, unsore, and feeling better soon, Joxie.
Thanks.
And the vet doesn't think there's a problem? Learned or not, it's not a normal behavior.
The vet doesn't know. My other cat died after I brought him home from a vet visit. He had been crying in the car, and when we got home and I let him out, he ran around the house crying . . . very upset. I followed him to try and calm him down. I noticed he was having a hard time catching a breath, and then he died. While I was having a nervous breakdown, Mom called the vet and he said it was stress, and that it had caused his lungs to fill up with fluid and drown him. I didn't go to the vet for years after that, and I only went this past summer because of a lump that turned out to be a cyst that I have to drain once or twice a week. If I ever start taking him back for yearly checkups again, I'll maybe remember to say something then. At 56, I don't see myself as young enough to cope. But maybe I am, since I don't seem to have brittle bones just yet. He's very picky about what he'll eat. And when he pukes on purpose, it's to get my attention so I'll go stand in the kitchen and watch him eat. It has nothing to do with furballs. I don't shut him up in the bathroom if he's puked up a furball . . . only when it's just fluid or food. I shudder to think.

It'd more than fill a 12 volume set (the Special Deluxe Edition comes with signed photos of incidents described within). But then I'd be stuck at a computer all day, writing all these mishaps, and nothing else mishappeningly (which is a word I just made up) would ever happen.

I can see why - that's got to have been a nasty shock.
Sounds okay to me - glossy pictures, right? I dislike those matted things; if I have to pay through the wazoo to get one I want glossies.

Getting more of the Christmas shopping done.
This is Hallmark ornament premiere weekend which means a couple more presents are now accounted for - which doesn't interest Gams in the least I'm sure. I’ll go back and reread Kat’s comment about cold just to help with the festive mood. Thanks Kat!

It's in the mid 90's and the blower to my A/C seized up this morning. I called a friend who was in automotive A/C and repairs. Because it’s Saturday many of the repair places and parts stores all close at noon. He knew of one person open to 2PM; he didn’t have the part but knew of another guy who also didn’t have the part but he knew of a third person just out of town. The friend did all the work and running around and testing. After much running around I have a new ($380) blower & capacitor installed, it’s now 16:30, and the house is cooling down. I tried to pay him but the friend refused to let that happen because I’d helped him with his computer (no big deal that). What I was able to do was give him my old mower as a friend had borrowed his and it seized up. I paid for parts only, and in exchange for a push mower I wanted gone anyway I got at least $300-$400 of hot sweaty labor. It’s good to have friends. I was trying to talk him into letting me at least treat him to dinner someplace but while he was thinking about it he got another call. An incapacitated veterinarian and friend of his needing help getting meds delivered to some patient who is in serious need - and off the friend went again. And the house is getting cooler.

He certainly saved us a bundle yesterday. When Steppet was active duty they both worked in the Personnel Office on Randolph, and then when we deployed to Turkey her job included visiting all the not so nice sites. She found him assigned to one of those mountain top sites while escorting a visiting dignitary. He was only there a year, but it turned out he'd been reassigned to Randolph and then retired. Randolph was my assignment after Turkey too and we ran into each other a few years later. He's a good mechanic, but computers confuse the heck out of him. I'm not a mechanic, but I know a thing or two about computers. It worked out nicely.

One good turn deserves another!
Kind of along the same lines....
Remember the free bouquets I set out for people to take? I came home from work the other day, and found a gift bag on my porch. Inside was a card that said "thanks for the beautiful flowers" along with the mason jar "vase"; inside the jar was a candle. It made me smile as much as I hoped the bouquets made the people that took them smile.

You know how when you turn on your computer and a Windows 10 lock screen opens; it is mostly beautiful scenery in some far off looking place, but there is one of a close-up photo of a red fox - it appears to be laughing with its chin covered in snow.
It makes me smile every time.

An oldie-but-a-goody:
Going through boxes in the basement, I came across a bunch of winter coats, gloves, hats, and ice skates the girls had outgrown over the years; they end up down there because when winter's over, I just box stuff up, thinking I'll take them to Goodwill when winter approaches the following year, but always forget!
Wanted to launder them first; there was enough for three loads, (minus the ice skates, of course!) Going through the pockets before throwing them in the washing machine, I found a total of $22.14 in change and wadded up singles. Whoo-hoo.

Sure, I'll pick up the tab this time, but remember me when you and your sister win the lottery!
Remember when people sent postcards when they went on vacation? I loved getting postcards!
One of my co-workers, a good friend in our coffee klatch, always escapes Michigan winters for a month or so; he drives out to California to house and dog sit for friends while they go on vacation, then heads to either Arizona or New Mexico for a few weeks where his hubs joins him when he can get vacation time. I always tell him before he leaves, "Don't forget to send postcards!"
He keeps me updated throughout his adventure by sending pictures via text "postcards" - and they always make me smile, or laugh. Not your typical beautiful scenery, or historic buildings, but odd things that he comes across, usually accompanied by odd captions.
This morning's caption was "Joan Collins sighting". It was a photo of a cougar track.

So I'm coming out of our local grocery store last night at around 8:30pm, with a full cart of groceries. The parking lot is nearly empty. Hhhmmm....
I get a running start, put one foot on the bottom rack of the cart and "peddle" with my other foot as fast as I can as if I'm on a kid's scooter, gaining enough momentum to coast all the way to my car. I jump off at the last minute to stop the cart before it crashes into the side of my car.
As I'm loading the grocery bags into my trunk, I notice an older gentlemen sitting in the car parked behind mine. He is chuckling at my antics. I shrug, and wave to him.
He gives me two thumbs up.

Hee Hee. I usually do that in the supermarket, much to voxy's annnoyance. While we are on the subject of life's pleasures, it looks like I'll be enjoying one of life's larger ones in a couple of months time.
