A Night at the Opera - my best friend's older brother used to have this on eight-track; she and I used to listen to it repeatedly on a stereo in their basement during the summer when we were in about sixth grade, while having marathon Monopoly games that would last for weeks. We had our personal hidden stashes of "money" all over that basement; I wouldn't be surprised if some of it is still down there.

Jesus Christ Superstar - Yvonne Elliman's version of I Don't Know How To Love Him was issued as a single reaching reach No 28; Helen Reddy's version was more successful charting at No 13. But, as far as I'm concerned, Yvonne Elliman's is much better. It is, essentially, a power love ballad and Elliman nails it.

Cake (who did the only version of "Jolene" I'm familiar with)

Don't think I've ever heard of them. I added the original version of Dolly's song to my post above.

Dolly wrote and sang the original, I didn't know about the Cake version, but I found a Back Yard Sessions version of Jolene by Miley Cyrus that I liked, and with it was a version of Look What They've Done To My Song that I like too. (There's a also version of Jolene with both Dolly and Miley together.)

Cake is alternative rock; they've been around forever - twenty or more years, I think. A couple of platinum albums, maybe more. Even though you've never heard of them, you may have heard one of their songs recently....just last night, I saw a commercial (maybe for athletic shoes? insurance? The woman was running a marathon) that used their song "The Distance". The lyrics were changed slightly from the pronoun "he" to "she", and a female sung the song (Cake is a male band)..."She's going the distance, she's going for speed..."
Listened to "Jolene" by Dolly Parton. It's a completely different song than Cake's "Jolene".

Well, instead of Alt Rock, let's go with real rock.
Whitesnake (Here I Go Again was a good song.)

Try - Pink (I like her dancing in this video - she's much more skillful & athletic than I anticipated.)

No woman can have a body like Pink's and not be athletic. She's not just thin, she's cut. And those arms - big guns for sure. BP watches all those music awards shows; on a couple of them, Pink did an aerial act while performing. Though I only know a couple of songs she's done, I find her fascinating. A coincidence - I was thinking of this song yesterday when I posted about creepy-ass clowns in the woods.
Funhouse
Oh! And though it looks like she's just skipping around in this video, it takes skill and athleticism to dance like that. LMAO at myself - I've tried it more than once, just because it looks like fun. I failed miserably.

Speaking of skipping around, Katy Perry did Roar live on Australian TV and again in person at some high school. During both performances she skips rope during the song. Another one who's in especially good condition.
