Thanks, Vox. She's feeling much better; you can judge how a kid's feeling by their annoyance factor: she was up running around, singing and dancing her way under my feet today.
I'm glad for the annoyance.

Thought I'd throw the doors of this place open and give it a quick spruce up in anticipation of the big .... huge ..... MASSIVE celebration party shortly.
A few hours from now and the mighty Geelong Cats <yay hurrah> go into battle against Port Adelaide <boo hiss> in the AFL Grand Final, twenty six weeks of blood sweat and tears culminate in two hours of frenetic action and at the end of it unbridled joy or ........ well let's not even contemplate that cause it ain't gonna happen.
Anyway the drinks are on me, be they drinks of celebration or ............ well let's not even contemplate that cause it ain't gonna happen.
Get ready folks cause we're gonna blow the roof off this place ................ Go the mighty Cats.

Since you're buying, my victory drink will be a arm-wrestling strong Pot o' Sludge, please: Caffeine straight up.
Make it a double.

The largest Pot o' Sludge I could find just for you Lady P, get stuck in before the bottom corrodes out, it's pretty strong. And for everyone else it's an open bar, help yourselves to whatever takes your fancy for as long as you like, it's all on me, and I don't say that very often.

Ooooooo, hot and strong...just the way I like it.
Thanks, Katina.
And since you're buying, what can I get you?

Glad you like it Lady P, as for me I think I better stick to tea right at the moment thanks, a nice big pot would go down a treat.

Perhaps a Baileys Irish Cream on the side.

You got it, Dear Katina.....
....uhm, does anyone here know how to make tea?
Well shoot, Katina, since it's only you and me here, you'll have to suffer with whatever I brew up in this cauldron here of mine.

Thanks Lady P, just throw a couple of tea pot bags in a pot of boiling water and hey presto, a beaut cuppa, nothing could be easier, at the moment I'd drink anything anyway.

Hey - I can do that, I've done it before for my Mom, actually; she likes tea, (and I heard apples do not fall far from the tree. Pfft) I thought you'd like for the special occasion some of that special brewed stuff that tastes like dirt. Of course, I think all tea tastes like dirt.
This is in comparison to sludge, of course, so my taste buds may be deadened....just a bit.

Sounds like your Mom has the best taste when it comes to beverages, nothing beats a nice hot cuppa in any sort of weather, one of lifes "pick me up's." I may just try a little sip of your sludge though, see what I'm missin'.

Brace yourself, Katina, before you dive in. Go slowly - just a tiny sip at first. Do NOT Gulp!
Uhm, do you have health insurance? Paid up-to-date?

That's okay....baby steps. Today, you admitted you'd like to try it; tomorrow you may actually take a sip.
Wouldn't want you to get all jittery and speed through the meeting of your Cats players.
Have fun, Katina. Enjoy!

Nice to see the place reopened again after being closed for so long for remodeling; I love what they've done with the place. The way the sunlight filters through the laced curtains of cobwebs is gorgeous! And the thick layers of dust bunnies murmuring quietly gives a soothing effect to our surroundings; there's nothing like some good background music to set the mood.
Glad to see my usual is ready and waiting - a tall, black coffee to go.
Later.

Well I'll admit to being partial to Bacardi and Coke Jox, so I'll have one of those if you'd be so kind, and fix yourself another Grape Juice while you're at it, my shout. Place does look nice doesn't it Lady P, like something straight out of "The House of the Damned" or some similar b grade horror movie. That Coffee's been percolating since Sept 30 2007 so it should be exactly how you like it by now.

The place does have that "Haunting of Amphipolis" look. Remembering that episode, I'm steering clear of the free fruit offered at the bar.

Remembering that episode, I'm steering clear of the free fruit offered at the bar. Don't want to alarm you Siren, but .. I .. don't .. think .. that's .. fruit. I'll let you know exactly what it is when [ if ] I can summon up the courage for a closer inspection.

You peaked my curiosity so I looked. I'm not really sure what used to be in the fruit bowl, but I don't think you can call it fruit any more. The raisins might still be good. Hm. Those ARE raisins aren't they? We might need fresh coffee Phalon. I tried stirring it with a plastic spoon. All that came out was the stem.

It was the lights that first caught his attention. The placed had been shuttered up for quite a while, but now, a lick of fresh paint on the outside, a new sign to welcome the punters. Tasty!
The soft tinkling of the piano-player drew him closer and, as he crossed the street, he could almost taste the cold beer on his tongue. He paused outside the door for the briefest of instants, then, taking a deep breath, he stepped inside.

That's how you know it's brewed just right, Stepper.
Moonglum! Nooooooo!
That's not the tinkling of piano keys you hear! It's the dust bunnies tap-dancing their Siren's song; she penned it for them when she was here the other day.
Drat! It's too late. You've fallen under their spell. Here, have a cup of coffee....but stay away from the fruit; apparently it bites back. The coffee just snarls.

He was halfway through his fourth, or was it his fifth drink, when she sat down next to him. She had the most disarming smile he’d ever seen. He bought her a drink and they chatted about themselves for what seemed like hours, oblivious to the looks they were attracting. The more they talked, the more he found himself falling under her spell.
He turned suddenly, at the opening of the door, and felt a gust of wind brush his face. When he turned back, she was gone. He finished his drink and turned towards the door, thinking; ‘Jeez, those dust bunnies have big ears though'. Ah well, you win some……….

A juke box! I didn't know there was a juke box! You know, plugged in and lit up, it reminds me of Christmas the way the bubbles float up the sides there, just like the old fashioned bubble lights on Christmas trees. And angel hair. The way the lights glow under the cob webs ... well doesn't that remind you of angel hair on some of the trees you've seen? What kind of music does this thing have in it? HEY! Patsy Cline's "Crazy". Anybody wanna... Where's all the ladies when you feel like dancing? Sigh. I'll just sit here and listen a time or two.
