Well, I don't have one for "seals", but I do for "curse", okay? Sorry I've been out of pocket.
We believed in fairy tales that day I watched your father give you away Your aim was true when the pink bouquet Fell right into my hands
We danced for hours and we drank champagne You screamed and laughed when I got up and sang And then you rode away in a white Mustang To your castle in the sand
Through the years and the kids and the jobs And the dreams that lost their way Do you ever stop and wonder Do you ever just wanna say
Hey, Cinderella, what's the story all about I got a funny feeling we missed a page or two somehow Oh, Cinderella, maybe you could help us out Does the shoe fit you now
We're older but no more the wise We've learned the art of compromise Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry And sometimes we just break down
We're good now 'cause we have to be Come to terms with our vanity Sometimes we still CURSE GRAVITY When no one is around
Yeah, our dolls gather dust in the corner of the attic And bicycles rust in the rain Still we walk in that fabled shadow Sometimes we call her name
Hey, Cinderella, what's the story all about I got a funny feeling we missed a page or two somehow Oh, Cinderella, maybe you could help us out Does the shoe fit you now

Falling is Like This - Ani DeFranco You give me that look that’s like laughing With liquid in your mouth Like you’re choosing between choking And spitting it all out Like you’re trying to fight gravity On a planet that insists That love is like falling And falling is like this
Feels like reckless driving when we’re talking It’s fun while it lasts, and it’s faster than walking But no one’s going to sympathize when we crash They’ll say you hit what you head for, you get what you ask And we’ll say we didn’t know, we didn’t even try One minute there was road beneath us, the next just sky
I’m sorry I can’t help you, I cannot keep you safe I’m sorry I can’t help myself, so don’t look at me that way We can’t fight gravity on a planet that insists That love is like falling And falling is like this. planet

Dare You to Move - Switchfoot
Welcome to the planet Welcome to existence Everyone's here Everybody's watching you now Everybody waits for you now What happens next
I DARE you to move I dare you to move I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor I dare you to move I dare you to move Like today never happened Today never happened before
Welcome to the fallout Welcome to resistence The tension is here Between who you are and you could be Between how it is and how it should be
Maybe redemption has stories to tell Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell Where can you run to escape from yourself? Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go? SALVATION is here

Madam Punkchell, please tell me about Switchfoot if you're up for it -- I like the lyrics...
Satan's Jewel Crown Emmylou Harris
Now if I were a queen and a ruler of nations, With diamonds and jewels profound Well, I'd rather know that I had salvation Than to know my reward Would be Satan's jewel crown
I've worn it so long but God for my Soul has reached down His love set me free He made me His own, and helped me cast off Satan's jewel crown
O, the life that I live so sinful and needless, Drinkin' and runnin' around All the things that I do for the love of the devil I know my reward Will be Satan's jewel crown
NEEDLESS

Here's one from my youthful Church of Christ days:
What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear What a privilege to carry Everything to God in PRAYER O what peace we often forfeit, O what NEEDLESS pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer.
"What A Friend We Have In Jesus" - traditional hymn

Like A Prayer Madonna
Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone I hear you call my name And it feels like home
Chorus:
When you call my name its like a little prayer I'm down on my knees, I wanna take you there In the midnight hour I can feel your power Just like a prayer you know I'll take you there
I hear your voice, it's like an angel sighing I have no choice, I hear your voice Feels like flying I close my eyes, oh God I think I'm falling Out of the sky, I close my eyes Heaven help me

Sky is Falling - Lifehouse I watch as the daylight crawls Past the shadows hanging on the walls It’s been a long time since I felt the stains Of yesterday getting in my way I’m alive but tell me am I free I’ve got eyes but tell me can I see The sky is falling and no one knows We shouldn’t be hard to believe Shouldn’t be this difficult to breathe The sky is falling and no one knows You leave me hanging on I need to catch my breath I’ve got you and I’ve got nothing left Don’t leave me all alone down here With myself and all of my fear I’m alive but tell me am I free I’ve got eyes but tell me can I see The sky is falling and no one knows We shouldn’t be hard to believe Shouldn’t be this difficult to breathe The sky is falling and no one knows No one knows No one knows I’m alive but tell me am I free I’ve got eyes but tell me can I see The sky is falling and no one knows We shouldn’t be hard to believe Shouldn’t be this difficult to breath The sky is falling and no one knows The sky is falling and no one knows The sky is falling and no one knows shadows

Maeve, I don't know much about Switchfoot except to say that they're a softer alternative band. The way Creed was a softer rock band. It's lyrics and rhythm I use to define that, but don't ever use my definitions as the definitive on anything. Not sure, but I think they have a Christian tinge or background; again, don't know much. About them.
Scrap, that's a cool feature you added to your lyrics, showing a pic of the band. I think you might be showing off.
Full Moon Full of Love - kd lang
COYOTE, oh coyote can you tell me why everytime the big MOON shines you sit right down and cry he says 'it's not because i'm sad that i sing all night long, i'm looking for someone to love and this is my love song' Oooooooooooooo, oh i go crazy when that moooooooooooon shines above Oooooooooooooo won't someone save me from that full moon full of love

Here's a beautiful, poignant song written by Larry Boone, and made a #1 hit by Don Willliams. Larry Boone wrote another song about the old hometown, "Everything's Changed", that was a major hit for Lonestar. Aaaanyway, check out this lyric:
He's got a US flag on his front porch To remind everyone where he lives And up in the attic there are papers that prove The old house is finally his
After thirty-five years the grass still don't grow In that rock hard west Texas ground Where my old dad still clings to that old coyote town.
Like horses the pick-ups are parked out in front Of a cafe that don't need a name Where the old men rock and the tumbleweeds roll Past the boarded-up windows down Main
Waist-high WEEDS hide a for sale sign At the drive-in where my innocence died With a rusty advertisement, dangling by a nail Says popcorn and Pepsi for a dime
And down at the depot where I left for good There's a hobo with his three-legged hound Waitin' for a train that no longer comes to that old COYOTE town
And the interstate rumbles like a river that runs To a rythm that don't ever slow down As cars and trucks and time pass by that old coyote town
Daddy falls asleep in the living room On the sofa with the TV on Sometimes he waits for a phone call from me Sometimes he waits too long
But I still think of the people and the place that he loves How much longer will they be around Till it's ashes to ashes, dust to dust For that old coyote town
"Old Coyote Town" by Don Williams

Shame On You - Indigo Girls
My friends they wash the windows and they shine in the sun They tell me wake up early in the morning sometime See what a beautiful job we done I say let's put on some tunes sing along dolittle all day Go down to the riverside take off our shoes wash these sins away
The river said la la la shame on you
I go down to Chicano city park cause it makes me feel so fine When the WEEDS go down you can see up close in the dead of winter time But when the summer comes everything's in bloom and you wouldn't know it's there The white folks like to pretend it's not but their music's in the air
You can hear them singing la la la shame on you You can feel them dancing la la la shame on you
My friend Tanner she says you know me and Jesus we're of the same heart The only thing that keeps us distant is that I keep f***** up I said come on down to Chicano city park wash your blues away The beautiful ladies walk on by You know I never know what to say
They'll be singing oo la la shame on you
Let's go road block trippin in the middle of the night up in Gainesville town There'll be blue lights flashin down the long dirt road when they ask me to step out They say we be looking for illegal immigrants can we check your car I say you know it's funny I think we were on the same boat back in 1694
I said oo la la SHAME on you

Ain't no point in pointin' fingers There's enough blame to go around Tell me since when were there ever two dreamers That ever had enough sense to slow it down Shame on me for what I'm feeling; Shame on you for feeling so good; Shame on me, I wanna kiss ya; Shame on you, I believe I could! Family System ~ Chevelle
Im tired of your open mouth, Crawling inside my skin, And this play we never quit, The fight within the cross begun, Say that its too late, When a man has gotta learn to hate.
Urrahh!!
Forget the time I said I would, Replace me with, But never will, Beyond the facts that are in your face, Ignore the facts beyond your nose, Said its to late, When a man has gotta learn to hate.
GROW UP!!!
Not without meaning, No response, Not a feeling.
JUST GROW UP!!!

Marathon Kiss Marianne Faithfull & Emmylou Harris
I cherished the night of your marathon kiss, Chemicals flying, oh I love this. What's it all for if you can't feel the ecstasy ? What's it all for if you can't touch the power, The will to live in the hour ?
Don't steal what I have got, baby, 'Cause it's hardly enough for myself. Don't steal what I've got, baby, 'Cause the balance is thin like a shell.
I cherished the night of your marathon kiss, Chemicals flying, oh I love this. What's it all for if you can't feel the moment ? What's it all for if you can't feel the moment, The moment of kiss.
Fearless when I'm with you, Fearless when I'm with you.
What am I gonna wear ? I don't care. Nobody sees the inside. Oh, the radio's gonna take us out Take us out on a ride. I put on perfume and I walk in the room The world stands still with you in the room. I cross the floor and I'm high and I'm rich When I'm under your lips and your fingertips.
I cherished the night of your marathon kiss, Chemicals flying into the mist. What's it all for if you can't feel the moment ? What's it all for if you can't feel the power ? What's it all for if you can't, can't live right here In the hour, in the hour, in the hour ?
Fearless when I'm with you, Fearless when I'm with you. Fearless when I'm with you, Fearless through and through.
FEARLESS

Showing off? Pfft.....check it out I can do it with one hand tied behind my back! I love this song. Surrendering - Alanis Morissette You were full and fully capable You were self sufficient and needless Your house was fully decorated in that sense You were taken with me to a point A case of careful what you wish for But what you knew was enough to begin And so you called and courted fiercely So you reached out, entirely fearlessAnd yet you knew of reservation and how it serves And I salute you for your courage And I applaud your perseverance And I embrace you for your faith in the face of adversarial forces That I represent So you were in but not entirely You were up for this but not totally You knew how arms length-ing can maintain doubt And so you fell and you’re intact So you dove in and you’re still breathing So you jumped and you’re still flying if not shocked And I support you in your trusting And I commend you for your wisdom And I’m amazed by your surrender in the face of threatening forces That I represent You found creative ways to distance You hid away from much through humor Your choice of armor was your intellect And so you felt and you’re still here And so you died and you’re still standing And so you softened and you’re still safely in command Self protection was in times of true danger Your best defense to mistrust and be wary Surrendering a feat of unequalled measure And I’m thrilled to let you in Overjoyed to be let in in kind embrace

Sarah Mclachlan ~ Fear
morning smiles like the face of a newborn child innocent unknowing.
winter's end promises of a long lost friend. speaks to me of comfort
but i fear i have nothing to give. i have so much to lose here in this lonely place. tangled up in your embrace there's there's nothing i'd like better than to fall.
but i fear i have nothing to give.
wind in time rapes the flower trembling on the vine and nothing yields to shelter from above. they say temptation will destroy our love. the never ending hunger
but i fear i have nothing to give i have so much to lose here in this lonely place tangled up in our embrace there's nothing i'd like better than to fall
but i fear i have nothing to give. i have so much to lose. i have nothing to give. we have so much to lose...

Oh my love My darling I hunger for your touch Alone, lonely time. And time goes by, so slowly And time can do so much Are you still mine? I need your love I need your love God speed your love to me Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea To the open arms of the sea Lonely rivers sigh, wait for me, wait for me I'll be coming home, wait for me Oh my love, my darling I hunger, for your touch Alone, lonely time And time goes by, so slowly And time can do so much Are you still mine? I need your love Oh, oh I need your love God speed your love to me

hold it close (so) I can taste it
I've watched this scene a thousand times and in my head this is how it all begins yes, I am becoming and this is how it all begins what did you expect? this is not an exit this has begun
I can almost see the blackest eyes the new flesh a new disguise ...welcoming...

An old drover's song...
Andy's Gone With Cattle Harry Lawson
Our Andy's gone with cattle now Our hearts are out of order With drought he's gone to battle now Across the Queensland border He's left us in dejection now Our thoughts with him are roving It's dull on this selection, now Since Andy's went to droving Who now shall wear the cheerful face In times when things are blackest? And who shall whistle round the place When fortune frowns her blackest? And who shall cheat the squatter now When he comes round us snarling?

I know, I know, bad form and all. But I heard this again today (hadn't heard in a very long time) and to post it. God help us, the utter ickiness (fill-in with your own words) of the stuff that passed for lyrics....
Cheerful Little Earful Ella Fitzgerald
There's a cheerful little earful Gosh I miss it something fearful And this cheerful little earful Is the well known I love you.
Stocks can go down, bus'ness slow down But the milk and honey flow down With a cheerful little earful Of the well known I love you.
In ev'ry play it's a set phrase What the public get phrase But as a pet phrase it'll do do do Poo-pa-roo-it Soft and cu-it Make me happy, you can do it.
With a cheerful little earful Of the well known I love you.

Lola well there can be only one reply to that (at least from me.)
Sugar Sugar The Archies
Sugar, ah honey honey You are my candy girl And you've got me wanting you. Honey, ah sugar sugar You are my candy girl And you've got me wanting you.
I just can't believe the loveliness of loving you (I just can't believe it's true) I just can't believe the one to love this feeling to. (I just can't believe it's true)
Ah sugar, ah honey honey You are my candy girl And you've got me wanting you. Ah honey, ah sugar sugar You are my candy girl And you've got me wanting you.
When I kissed you, girl, I knew how sweet a kiss could be (I know how sweet a kiss can be) Like the summer sunshine pour your sweetness over me (Pour your sweetness over me)
Sugar, pour a little sugar on it honey, Pour a little sugar on it baby I'm gonna make your life so sweet, yeah yeah yeah Pour a little sugar on it oh yeah Pour a little sugar on it honey, Pour a little sugar on it baby I'm gonna make your life so sweet, yeah yeah yeah Pour a little sugar on it honey,
Ah sugar, ah honey honey You are my candy girl And you've got me wanting you. Oh honey, honey, sugar sugar .......... You are my candy girl ........
Sweetness
