Grumble, grumble....Wednesday evening; today was Earth Day. Article was on the editor's cyber-desk first thing Monday morning - in plenty of time for it to be posted by today. Pfft!
Ah, well...I shouldn't complain; if I'm ten minutes late wherever I go, why should I expect other people to be on time.
Still....grumble, grumble.

I know. I gathered several backgrounds for PT's last night while I was "not sleeping". Did I get one of them posted today? Nope. But I was busy all day. I finally started painting in the old bedroom. When I got to Home Depot this morning, I told the girl, "I don't paint and I need to paint a bedroom, so just hook me up...you know, rollers, primer, white & shiny for trim." She told me to go pick out a color while she started gathering. I knew I wanted something in green, darker...the first card I picked up...what do you suppose the second color from the top was called? Rosemary. I said, "Well, that didn't take long." So anyway, I got started. Actually I got one window frame painted. But hey, there's a lot of prep to painting. The blue tape...and washing the walls...and wiping the baseboards...pfft. I was worn out by the time I actually got to the paint brush! I'm sorry about your article. But perhaps when it does hit the press, it will be on a day other than Earth Day, so it will remind someone that everyday should be a green day...and it will have more of an impact than had it arrived on the appointed day... Make sense? I know I can't wait to read it regardless of what day it gets there.

I hate painting....all the prep-work that goes into it; all that stupid blue tape! Pfft. Hubs does most of the painting, and it's a good thing. He is a meticulous painter; I just don't have the patience for it. Slap it on, and be done with it, I say. Oh, no, no, no...first we've got to wash, then tape, then.....
I pick the colors, he paints - it works best that way. Your color scheme sounds pretty, TG. Rosemary and shiny white - clean and crisp. A room for all seasons.
It's no biggie about the Earth Day article not getting posted on the day; I know they're still having problems with the new server.
The only thing is the Happy Earth Day closing line will be after the fact, damn it, for once I was on time!!!!
Love the photo, btw.

OK, I'm ready for Hubs to come and finish this room. I HATE PAINTING! There, I said it. I didn't realize it until today. My back is broken. I have a knot that runs from just below my shoulder blade all the way up the right side of my neck to the base of my skull, my knees are bruised from crawling around the baseboards--twice, because of course it took two coats, and I have paint-spotted contacts from looking up while applying another two coats to the ceiling! AARRGGHH!
I didn't even get to the Rosemary today. And now my new roomie is coming Saturday instead of Sunday. Pfft.
There will be no more painting until I can afford to pay someone else to do it for me! I'm like you, Gams. I just don't have the patience for all that tedious window-work and...ANY OF IT!!

Love the article! I had you a nice little comment to add and I can't log in, can't change my password. Maybe still problems with the server.

Thanks, TG!
Keep trying to log in; I'd love to see your comment there. I sometimes have problems logging in, but just checked, and it worked okay. The site's always been slow on my computer, and lately it isn't loading properly on either my PC or the laptop - although it works fine on Hubs' and my boss's which are both Microsoft Vista. I have no clue if that makes a difference or not.
I'll send Hubs down with paintbrush in one hand, and roller in the other.
No need to pay him; I have a feeling he'd work for food....some of your Southern cooking!

Went back to Grit today to try again and I changed my password and everything. Now it says "I have been locked out and please contact the magazine to resolve the issue." Maybe my comment about "an old girlfriend" really was too liberal for the magazine!?

I can't see how your comment would be the reason you can't sign in, TG. I can't imagine such a thing. It's just not possible it could be seen in any way offensive. And besides, regardless of how you meant the word "girlfriend" who's to say it couldn't mean "girlfriend' as opposed to your guy friends. <shrugs> Either way, it shouldn't matter.
Which is what I told the editor in the e-mail I just sent. Pfft. If they found your comment too liberal or offensive in any way, I find it offensive they would consider it as such.
Do me a favor and pm me your e-mail address; the only one I have is the one from your old job. Just in case they need it to fix whatever the problem might be. Hey....is there a chance you signed up under an e-mail you no longer have? I know a valid e-mail is required to post.

Well, I went ahead and e mailed them and asked that they help me resolve whatever the reason I was being locked out. I'll check later when I get home. And I'm pm-ing my address to you. It's the only one I've used since about June of last year, tho. I can't really imagine that what I said could be taken in an offensive manner...but I've also learned in my 30+ years of living this lifestyle that not everyone is as..."open-minded" as the next one. Oh well, I'm sure it will get worked out.

Hmm...well, I tried again with no luck. I even tried changing the password again. Maybe it's just a glitch of some kind and they'll get it worked out tomorrow when someone is in their cyber-office.

Well, your webmaster reset my password and I was then prompted to change it right away, so I did. Still can't log in. I don't know, sis.

Still working on it, TG.
Heard back from the editor, (very nice woman, btw - she's been an absolute peach to me since I started on the site and ask a million questions, cuz I had no clue what this blogging stuff was all about when they asked me to do it).
Her e-mail response in part:
"No way! We wouldn’t do that at all!
Can you send me her email address so that I can look into it further? A quick work around would be for her to re-register with a different email address. Though I understand that that could be a pain.
We want Quetta to be able to comment! (And mention her girlfriend if she wants!)"
I guess all I can do is to send her your e-mail address ( if that's okay) and see what she can do. I hope they can get it worked out - I enjoy reading your comments there!

I'm back in like Flynn, sis!
And it only took four password resets by Grit's webmaster. <eye roll>

Yay!!
The ordeal reminds me of when Whoosh changed servers from ez-board to Proboard. I couldn't get in for a couple of weeks, and ended up posting on the Guestboard while Joxie and Gig tried to figure out why. The only thing that worked was to sign up for a new e-mail address.
Who knows what goes on in the minds of computers?

Programs do what you tell them to do, not what you want them to do. (I have experience with this.)
