Sorry if I made this one tougher for folks who aren't from this side of the pond, Kat. But this fellow was very well-known at the time. Indeed, he was an American Olympic gold medalist, who was on the front of the Wheaties box in the mid-70s.

Sorry if I made this one tougher for folks who aren't from this side of the pond, Kat. No worries Siren, makes me use the old grey matter a bit more, and it certainly needs the exercise let me tell you. Mid seventies, I'm guessing Montreal, or possibly Munich? Apologies for holding things up.

No apologies necessary at all, my friend. You're right on track. It was Montreal.

Afraid I'm coming up blank to be honest Siren. I thought maybe Carl Lewis but I'm pretty sure he was after Montreal, and no other names come to mind, think I may have to admit defeat on this one. If ya tell me the event/s he won it "may" help ................. then again it may not.

You're on the right track, Kat. This fellow was a track & field star. Matter of fact, it took great performances in several events to win his gold medal. Does that help any?

Ahhhh, the guy who scored record points in the Decathalon, and probably the only one I'd remember from way back then, Bruce Jenner? Howdy Siren.

Hang on, I think she's back. Hi Siren. .......................... My arm's gettin' tired.

Post by Siren on Aug 30, 2011 7:28:43 GMT -6
Here's some liniment for that arm. Sorry!
And speaking of Ben Gay, yes, it's Decathlon champ (and super cutie of the time) Bruce Jenner! His son, Brody, (former star of "The Hills" and "The Princes Of Malibu") is just as handsome as the ol' man was, back in the day. But his looks are a combination of Bruce and his then-wife, Linda Thompson, a beauty queen/actress, and later, songwriter, who is also famous for being Elvis' post-Priscilla girlfriend. A beauty queen and an Olympic athlete - a pretty great gene pool to draw from.
You did it, Kat!

Yep, and with hardly any help either. Thanks for the great clues Siren, would never have gotten it otherwise. Here's a couple of sproggs belonging to a famous celebrity ..... Lily Rose Melody. John Christopher.

I think I know this one, but will give the others a chance first. One of our chakamigas, in particular, should have no trouble with this one!

I have no clue ... or, I _had_ no clue until the post above. Me thinks me knows now though, and will let Phalon answer.

Come on down Gams and have a stab at it.

Thought you'd have no trouble figuring it out Gams, tis indeed Captain Jack himself.
Sheesh, knew some people give their kids strange names, but "Swoonishly Delicious" now I ask you.

I suppose it's my turn? ACK. I don't really know much about celebrities, much less, their children.
Two kids whose parents now divorced, are both celebrities: Isabella and Connor

Hmmm...a hint, please? And BTW, that "ACK" made me think of the "Cathy" comic strip. Good times!

Here are a few hints, Siren...
The kids were both adopted.
The divorced celebrities parents are both now remarried to other celebrities.
The kids live with the father.

Another clue: both parents are from our generation and were/are big box office draws.
I suppose it wouldn't help if I said BP is named after a character from a movie in which both parents starred. Not necessarily because it was a great movie; it's because we just happened to be watching it while we were trying to come up with a name we could all (including LX) agree on, and I suggested the character's name.

That's got to be Mariska Hargitay who was in the back seat of the car when her mother, Jane Mansfield, was killed in a really bad accident. I remember sitting in our house folding news papers before starting my route and telling my brothers what the headline said. It was a surprise to all of us.

Well done, Step. Mariska, my mom's favorite, actually had TWO famous parents. Her dad was Mickey Hargitay, who was a famous bodybuilder/actor in the mid-1950s. Talk about genetically blessed on both sides - that's Mariska.
Unless those random words are REALLY unusual celebrity kid names (which, in a world where Gwyneth Paltrow named her baby "Apple", is possible), I think you have the wrong game, Step.

Yes...I doofed up. I was thinking about the #1 thread when this one came up with Mariska and I sort of crossed them over. The only name on the list I posted was Whizzer, which I thought made it too easy.
