"The White Mouse", the Allies' most decorated servicewoman, died August 8th, at aged 98. Nancy Wake, a spy for the Allied Forces during WWII, saved thousands of lives, and "was awarded France's highest honor, as well as three Croix de Guerre and a French Resistance Medal, Britain's George Medal and the US Medal of Freedom"....and finally, 60 years after her service, was recognized by the Australian government, becoming Australia's most decorated servicewoman.
