Bridge Over Troubled Water ~ Simon and Garfunkel
When you're weary, feelin' small When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough, and friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down
When you're down and out, when you're on the street When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you I'll take your part, oh when darkness comes, and pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind
Sail on silver girl, sail on by Your time has come to shine, and all your dreams will run their way See how they shine, oh, if you need a friend, I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind

Lady Jane your eyes are wide today, And the world is looking very strange, you must proclaim! Its quite a scary, scary ride we take, lady Jane.
Yesterday seemed very dark, but now it's bright, Your clouds have gone away. Sensory perception peaking at this time, Electric waves of sound are filling Janie's mind today Calling out to Janie as you drift away, don't be afraid, They're only your illusion anyway.
Lady Jane your eyes are wide today. And were sure you wont forget the things You've seen today!

I know, sis. More of mom's influence. She played the stereo everyday and I used to think "AARRGH", but looking back and remembering songs and the collection of vinyls that she had, I know now where I got my love of music and my varied tastes.
It's fun to hear songs again that I haven't heard since they were on that turntable. Ella was one of her favorites...and Mahalia Jackson. They both have such pure voices.
And now, this is a memory from one of my first 8-tracks...

Back Home Again ~ John Denver
There's a storm across the valley clouds are rollin' in the afternoon is heavy on your shoulders. There's a truck out on the four lane a mile or more away the whinin' of his wheels just makes it colder.
He's an hour away from ridin' on your prayers up in the sky and ten days on the road are barely gone. There's a fire softly burning; supper's on the stove but it's the light in your eyes that makes him warm.

Vinyls and 8-tracks, Q; things that were such a big part of our growing-up music years, and nearly completely lost now. Recently, LX and I were watching "Mama Mia" on T.V.. "Dancing Queen" was on a 45 I had in about 5th grade; "The Name of the Game" was its flip-side or B-side, (or maybe it was the other way around). LX just couldn't understand the concept of a 45 when I explained it to her; BP has absolutely no clue what an LP is, (LX only knows because she dug a few out of a downtown dumpster once to hang on her wall as decoration). Strange, huh?
from "Storm" by Saliva
