What writing exercises do you do to jump start your creativity? To get to know you character/s? The story? The background? To find a direction for the story?
What books, websites, etc. do you use that contain writing exercises?

LMAO and oops. I glanced too quickly at the thread title, and thought it read "Writing Excuses". I was about to add a long list. Sigh.
One day I will stop making excuses....but right now my jump-starter is out of juice.
