Pretty much they’re all the same, and all a pain in the behind to write. There are so many different types of resources out there now – everything from books to magazines to podcasts to on-line videos – and the format for citing each one is different. Some of the magazines I query for nonfiction articles require a bibliography for resources I intend to use, and even following on-line examples, I get confused about how to cite what. Then LX turned me on to EasyBib. All you have to do is choose from about sixty resource types, type in the pertinent information in a menu, and it puts the source in the proper format. It’ll even alphabetize your list of resources, (a bonus if your brain is fried from staying up late trying to get it done),and transfer it to a word document format ready for printing. Cool beans. easybib.com/cite/viewI wish there was a site like EasyBib that does outlines; one that pulled the information from my head without me even thinking would be great. I’ve got one due Friday, haven’t even started, and really no time this week to get it done. At least I’ve got the bibliography finished.

Very nice. Thanks for the link, Phalon. Have you tried other ways to outline? I think I have various ways listed on 'The Word' board. If the info isn't listed within this thread, click on the links in the first post, those should have them.
BTW: Several authors, whose blogs I read, comment that they thought they would self-publish what their publishers wouldn't ... out of print books, articles, short stories, fiction and nonfiction pieces, & _fun stuff_ that the publishers would feel was a waste of their time and money. That got me to thinking. I've written goofy stuff that I find interesting and cracks me up, but a publisher most likely wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. And I thought, "Hey, others might get a kick out of it too." ... So, I'm seriously thinking of indie-publishing it just for the fun of it, and not expecting a whole lot of income from it.
So why not think about that too. Once your present/future works are out of print, and in some cases when the rights revert back to you, ePublish them just to see what they'll bring in. So what if it isn't much. It could bring in other interests. And anything that won't sell, you can ePublish also.
I've got several books on how to ePublish waiting for me to read them, and I've dug out old goofy, fun stuff that's been collecting dust, and I hope to have it all figured out before this year is over. Maybe even ePub single poems for 99 cents or less. All Hallows Eve & They Be The Quibberboo ... then later on add them to a larger collection that I'll ePub, and put out as POD too.

Thanks for the trip to the links, Joxie. It wasn't really what I was looking for this time around, but I'll keep the info in mind if I get stuck in the future (which is inevitable). I've never used an outline to write, and what I really needed was a formal outline example...of which there are many, I know. Introduction, Body, Conclusion, and everything in between, blah, blah, blah. After looking over a few, I decided it was too much work this time around. I'd have to get the outline done, write a query, gather published writing samples; print, package, and get it out in the mail (no e-mails excepted on this one) before I left for work on Friday. Too much else going on here this week, and I'd be hard pressed to get it done. Rather than pull my hair out trying, I'll skip this one.
Funny thing is, I've got over 3/4 of the actual article written, and really just need a good intro and conclusion to complete it. Ah, well, maybe I can find somewhere else to send it.
Cool beans about you digging out some of your older works and thinking about publishing them independently. Don't just think about it - go for it this time!
I'm currently reworking a piece - actually, it's I think, the second thing that was published of mine. Even though the rights are mine again, most magazines won't publish a previously published piece. Pieces of it reworked into another story, though, is well....a different story. Gonna try that route on a couple I think, before tackling the self-publishing route. It's that procrastination thing, you know.

Yes. Procrastination gets me every time too. I like to analyze everything to death before I do something, and then I finally force myself to do it and discover I should have stopped thinking about it and done it already. It's just my nature. I really do intend to do it by the end of the year this time. I really do. I do, I do, I do. I will, I will, I will.
Until I get distracted with something else.
I'm gonna do it. Yes. I. AM!
Hopefully. Eventually.
This year, for sure.
I think maybe starting out with fun, goofy stuff first might get me motivated to put out my serious stuff. That's the thought, anyway.

Yeppers. Joxcee doesn't fall far from the Joxer nickname. Maybe I should have used some other character for my nickname. Heh. Who am I kidding. The nickname was very fitting.
