F is for Fred, Scrooge's nephew
My memory of kind Fred was jogged recently by my umpteenth viewing of the wonderful George C Scott version of "A Christmas Carol", which AMC was kind enough to screen over and over the other day.

Oh, I caught that one too, Siren. It's one of my favorite "Christmas Carol" versions.
Grandpa Prophater from "Meet Me in St. Louis" - not really a Christmas movie, but it has a lovely, and very memorable Christmas scene in it...in which Grandpa is not even present, but hey, the only other "G" I could think of was Grinch.
(That's one danged-long run-on sentence, but I blame it on the generosity of the season. Short sentences seem too sparse this time of year. eye-roll.)

Abilene Tucker - the heroine of "Moon Over Manifest", a Newberry Medal winner children's novel I just read. Excellent, excellent book on so many levels for pre-teens to adult. Oh-my-gosh, it was such a great story, I couldn't put it down.

Cool! A double!
Heidi (Bowl) ~ memorable because of the uproar when NBC cut from the exciting football game between Oakland and the New York Jets to show the children’s' movie Heidi in 1968. Oakland won scoring twice in the last few moments of the game - but we didn't get to see that part. To this day TV directors have a "Heidi phone" so they can contact the networks if necessary and ensure games are not interrupted.
