USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa) was the name under which more than forty (mostly) U.S. artists, headed by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, recorded "We Are the World".

X, yes I know we did them before but since I'm so pleased I have to do a happy dance. X, an early punk band, morphed into the Knitters, a rather good folk/country band -- with the same members. Now they have morphed back into being X and are the opening act on Blondie's new tour. And I have tickets!! Happy dance!!

Step, we had that "Classical Gas" album when I was a kid. Good stuff!/ Some of us old folks still have it...or at least on a 45. Pat Benatar - one lady who knows how to rock.

Lara Crokaert AKA Lara Fabian - is Belgian/Italian and an international singer, but her citizenship is Canadian. She sings in French, Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Hebrew, Greek, and German. {For my part, I've heard most of those.}
She is a lyric soprano with a vocal range spanning three octaves. {That would hurt me.}

The Georgia Satellites - an 80s Southern rock band, that I believe only had one hit - "Keep Your Hands To Yourself"; I've never heard anything else by them.

OOOO. I liked her. She's a prolific songstress with several hundred tunes to her credit. I think my fav is At Seventeen. And a nice double to boot!
Kathryn Dawn Lang - AKA K. D. Lang. Gotta love her version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. She's also got an excellect version of Roy Orbison's Crying with him, and another with just her. Taking a shot in the not so off chance this happened, what did you think of her concert Scamp?

System of a Down - an alternative metal, alternative rock, art rock, experimental metal, experimental rock, hard rock, heavy metal, new prog, nu metal, progressive metal, progressive rock, or thrash metal band. Take your pick; they've been described as all of the above, although their Grammy is in the "hard rock" category.
