You said it, Gams. What a good song that is!

Kay Starr, best known for The Rock and Roll Waltz. Kay was born in Oklahoma on a reservation: half Irish and half Iroquois. Billie Holiday said of her: "she's the only white woman who could sing the blues."

Ah, The Motels.
Kay Starr had "it", Scamp. Whatever it is that makes celebrities different from the rest of us, she had it.

Quarterflash!
Who didn't want to "harden their heart" at least once in the 80's??

I'd forgotten about Quarterflash. Here's another from the early 80s, (late 70s maybe?).

I not only remember Quarterflash, I remember the knickers I bought, inspired by the ones worn by the lead singer, Rindy Ross. She started a trend during my junior year of high school. Many years later, I met a girl named Rindy, named after the Quarterflash gal. And here's a site for Marv and Rindy Ross, who are still out there pitchin': quarterflash.net/++++++ S is for Sammy Kaye, popular during the Big Band era
