Oh, now that's a beauty, Step.
The Queen's Court - a local country duo from a couple decades ago. Seemed to be getting somewhere, and were making some connections in Nashville. Then, one met a fellow who told her, "It's the music or me." Sadly, she chose wrong.

Asa Yoelson - AKA Al Jolson. In his heyday, he was dubbed "The World's Greatest Entertainer".
From Wikipedia: "After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Jolson became the first star to entertain troops overseas during World War II, and again in 1950 became the first star to perform for G.I.s in Korea, doing 42 shows in 16 days. He died just weeks after returning to the U.S., partly due to the physical exertion of performing."

Interesting, Step!
Boston ~ another one of those "worn-out" LPs...and then I think I actually had it on cassette and later bought the CD! But only the first one. The later releases just never had the impact of that first one.

I know what you mean Q! I've still got the original LP someplace. And I copied it to cassette too! 2 out of 3 ain't bad, eh?
Celine Dion - she's got some great power ballads.

Gordon Lightfoot - he had songs that went higher on the charts, but The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is one of my favorites.
