An American Haunting (2005) starring Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek. Based on the true story of the Bell Witch; this one scared me.

On An Island With You - actress is pursued by a naval officer while shooting a film
This one starred Esther Williams, a national swimming champion turned into a movie star by the power of MGM studios. She wasn't a great actress, but was very pretty, and performed well in elaborate, choreographed swimming pool production numbers. She had quite a run, appearing in over a dozen big-budget MGM films, made money with Esther Williams swimsuits and swimming pools, helped popularize swimming, and influenced synchronized swimming as an Olympic sport.

Laura Croft: Tomb Raider - one of my favorite female action movies; Jolie is just too fun to watch kicking butt. I totally agree. She was meant for that role! ~~~~ "The New Land" (1972), starring Liv Ullman, depicts the struggles of a Swedish immigrant family settling in the wilds of the United States in the mid-19th century. You had to be tough to make it, that's for sure.

The Other Side of the Mountain (1975) - based on the book "The Long Way Up: The Story of Jill Kinmont" by E.G. Valens. A two tissue box tear-jerker for sure. Oh, I remember that movie, Gams! A very good tearjerker. Though I was just a kid, I remember that powerful scene where Jill's fiance' really realizes that she isn't ever going to walk again. Good movie. "Quality Street" (1937), in which, in the 1810s, an old maid (Katharine Hepburn) poses as her own niece in order to teach her onetime beau a lesson.

Run Silent, Run Deep - stars Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster, a WW-II submarine movie based on a book by Eisenhower's Navy Aide. Using the author's propinquity to Eisenhower, they were able to shoot the interior scenes in real submarines.

Gothika (2003) - starring Halle Berry as a psychiatrist who finds herself a patient in the mental institution where she works....without memory as to how she got there. One of those 'it could have been good, but wasn't' movies. You look at what Halle did, post-Oscar, and it's hard to come to any conclusion except she just took the money and ran. Really disappointing. But it also makes you wonder if, sadly, there just aren't that many good roles out there being offered to women of color. If that was the case, Halle had the bucks to form her own production company and CREATE the roles, as Tyler Perry has. It just seems like she either has terrible taste in roles, will take ANY role if the money is right, or had few options and little imagination. "The Indian In The Cupboard" (1995) - a magical cupboard brings a toy Indian to life
