This includes movies seen on the Big Screen, as well as the little screen. So, TV movies are allowed. No Plays, unless they've been filmed and aired on either the big or little screen.
My best friend is a fur-ball.
I fell in love with another guy's girl, who turned out to be his sister.
I fly a spaceship.
Who Am I?
If you don't have an answer, ask me a question.

Like the looks of this one Jox, okay if one of the old timers [ that'd be me ] kicks it off while we wait and see if any newbies take a nibble at it?
Ummm, was thinking the guy from "Garfield" but he doesn't fly a spaceship ........... does he?

All are welcome in this game, ya don't have ta wait on a newby if ya don't want to.
And, no, it ain't the guy from Garfield.
Ya can ask a question . . . although it's been so long since I've seen this movie I might not remember too many details.

Righto then, in for a penny, in for a pound. There's a hint right there, it goes back a ways by the sound of it, is it a "one off" film or were there sequels?

Han Solo?
Princess Leia: "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought." "Will someone get this walking carpet out of my way?"

Kat: There were 3 movies, and now there are six. (I haven't seen the prequels though, so I don't know if a younger version of my guy was in it or not.)
Siren: Your Turn!

I'm an American, living in a foreign country in the early days of WWII.
I own a nightclub, which draws all kinds of characters, shady and virtuous. Seems "everybody comes to.." my place. If only the Nazis would stay out, it would be even more popular.
I stick my neck out for nobody...till a lady from my past, and her freedom-fighter husband, come along.

Whoops, think it is, got so many irons in the fire here at the moment I don't know if I'm coming or going. I move to the great plains after almost dying in the civil war, become friends with the Lakota Sioux, fall in love with one of their women, and eventually abandon my ways to join them, which is not taken well by the military.

"Dances With Wolves"... Man...can't think of his name. A little help, Mia? Scrap? Gams? That's the one alright, Kev's epic western. I was thinking [ unusual for me I know ;D ] that if everyone agrees, any time we know the character but just can't place the name it would be okay to look it up, seeing as how we've already solved it anyway ............. whatcha say, agree, disagree, stop thinking before you injure yourself.

Fine by me, I can't think of his name either. They gave him an indian name too, didn't they? I don't remember it either.

I agree with your new rule, kat. Good thinking.
How about this one? I'm a catcher in triple-A baseball, mentoring a young pitcher with a great arm and no common sense, and vying for the affections of the team's biggest fan.

There's no rule that says ya can't look the character's name up on IMDb either. At least, I didn't make up such a rule. So vote on it and we'll go with the majority.

Lt. John Dunbar was his name Jox, Dances with Wolves the name the Indians gave him. Think that's three yep's and zero nope's with regard to looking up the name if we can't quite remember it, so full steam ahead then I guess. Righto Siren, would you happen to be ............................... Bull Durham?

Dances With Wolves should have been easy to remember.

Yes, indeedy, good ole Crash Davis from "Bull Durham", my favorite baseball movie. Isn't Susan Sarandon awesome? And Kevin Costner was never sexier.

Dances With Wolves should have been easy to remember.
Ya woulda thought so wouldn't you MM, hope your memory isn't going the same way as mine. Very good movie that Siren, right up there with Field of Dreams and The Natural as the best baseball movies I'd say. And "awesome" is the right word to describe Susan in it [ as in most things she does actually ] watched part of "White Palace" the other night, and she absolutely sizzled, the scene where she met Spaders family was a gem. Right, here we go .............. I am a young woman embarking on a journey that will end in tragedy. I flaunt tradition and fall in love with a young man beneath my station. Decades later I relive those momentous days and tell the story of that short but tumultuous period that changed my life forever.

I had to give this one some thought, kat. Slept on it. Had to guess, as I've only seen a few moments of it. Is it Nicole Kidman in "Far and Away"?

|
|
Post by katina2nd on Sept 24, 2006 6:44:49 GMT -6
Nope, not Nicole; I'm very old at the beginning and end of the movie, young during the remainder.
Think big budget, and I mean BIG.

*smacking forehead* Oh, good grief. I only forgot one of the great box office champs! Sailed right on bye you did it Siren? Right Becka, glad you decided to give it a shot, and you've stumped me for the moment with this one, so let's see, is it recent?

It came out in the last 20 years so I'd say recentish. LOL

Post by katina2nd on Sept 25, 2006 19:58:44 GMT -6
Yep, reckon 20 years would qualify as recent, or at least recentish. Think I kinda know this, but not 100% which character you are, and certainly don't know your name, but would you be Sally Fields character from "Steel Magnolias?"
