Rules are as follows. (Don't mind me I'm making this up as I go along)
I'll start by posting a play, movie or opera title. The next person must pick a word out of that title to find another play, movie or opera with that word in the title and post it. BUT the new play, movie or opera must not be of the same genre. Clear? In other words you can't post a horror genre right after a horror genre.
If the rules read like Scrappy's in the "Musical Chairs" game thread, it's because I copied/pasted it and just switched out a few words.

Not many movies/plays with Starfighter in the title, just used "last" so that only leaves "the" I guess, so

The Call - just saw this one on DVD and liked it. Halle Berry looks as stunning as ever, and the movie is a pretty good thriller, although I didn't care for the ending; it didn't seem in line with the characters' personalities.

Halle does still look amazing, doesn't she? She's one of those lucky women who is lovely at every stage of life.

She is gorgeous. What I can't figure out though, is her choice in some of the roles she accepts - the movies "Gothika" and "Catwoman" come to mind - and is still one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

Oh, good one Siren. The same two stalwarts Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee also starred in ... Dr. Terror's House of Horrors. Yes, Kat, our two old favorites. As a kid, the tv commercial for "Dr. Terror's House Of Horrors" always scared me. BTW, Kat, let me share this with you. John Ferguson is a local media figure. He has been an actor for decades, and a tv pitch man for several business, including a stint for a car dealership as a masked cowboy called "The Loan Arranger" (hee hee!). But John is legendary here as a spooky late-night tv host called "Count Gregore". Often, the movies he introduced were as cheesy as the skits featuring The Count and his sidekick,"Mr. Ape". But a couple of generations of Okies remember and love John. He is alive and well, and still in OKC, and delights in talking with fans and recounting his adventures. Many years ago, I attended the Oklahoma State Fair, and saw John signing autographs in costume as "The Loan Arranger". I got in line with the other fans, and as he signed my photo, I asked quietly, "Do you ever hear from The Count?" His head snapped up, he grinned and said, "All the time," and inscribed my photo, "Happy Trails from The Loan Arranger...Love and Screams from Count Gregore". Here's an article about John, one of the most gracious gentlemen you'll ever meet: www.seniornewsandliving.com/newsletter/newsletter_view.php?newsid=3891&catid=104&active=0&mode=current~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Little Mermaid - a movie and Broadway musical

We had two such horror show hosts growing up, Siren. The Ghoul was late night, and Sir Graves Ghastly had a Saturday daytime show. As the time slots would indicate, The Ghoul's humor was a bit raunchier and geared more for teens, while Sir Graves Ghastly was gentlemanly - more of how your Count Gregore sounds. He reminds me of an over-the-top melodramatic Vincent Price (if it's at all possible to be more melodramatic than Vincent Price). Sir Graves Ghastly hosted horror and did his shtick in Detroit for 15 years from the late 60s to the early 80s. He died in 2007 at age 94. I'd bet you can ask anyone growing up anywhere close to the Detroit area in the 70s if they remember Sir Graves, and I'm sure they'd say yes with a smile on their face.

Sad that local tv personalities like my Count and your Sir Graves and The Ghoul are pretty much a thing of the past. The closest thing we have now is BJ Wexler, who has hosted a classic movie show on the local PBS channel for a couple of decades.

I think I've seen parts of both the Vincent Price one and the remake, Katina....something in the second one about the last remaining guy and girl in a laboratory-type room maybe, or on a catwalk of some sort? Heck, I don't know - I get all those House/Hill/Haunted movies mixed up.
Here's another that's been remade (is there any movie left that hasn't?), and I'm positive I've seen the remake (but not the original):
The Last House on the Left - originally written and directed by Wes Craven in 1972, (his first film), and redone in 2009.

Heck, I don't know - I get all those House/Hill/Haunted movies mixed up. Yeah the "laboratory-type room" sounds right from my recollection (trying to keep the memories of it repressed ) it really was a bit of a stinker. Here's another that's been remade (is there any movie left that hasn't?), and I'm positive I've seen the remake (but not the original): The Last House on the Left - originally written and directed by Wes Craven in 1972, (his first film), and redone in 2009. The original was highly controversial, censored in a number of countries and banned outright in England because of it's violence and sadism, not sure of it's status there at present. I was about 7 when the original "Last House..." came out. The radio commercial (radio made an impression, even then) always scared me: "Just keep telling yourself it's only a movie...only a movie...only a movie..."
