adios - I know, it's 'foreign' but here in Texas it's pretty common. Sort of like finding a Loonie or a Toonie in your change.

Oh for crying out loud! You're up by the Canadidian border (yes I did that on porpoise) and you work retail - I bet either LX or BP can tell you. Money. Loonie is the one dollar coin of our friends to the north - it has a Loon on the reverse. Toonie is the two dollar coin. Shoot - we get their quarters all the way down here.
I almost went with Audie (Murphy) but that didn't change any of the letters.

I've never, in all of my life, heard them referred to as a loonie and a toonie.
Did you bet a loonie or a toonie? You just lost it - I asked BP; her response? "Huh?"

Context. You just asked her if she knows what a toonie is - if you had mentioned change at DQ she might have known.
Really? You've never heard the term? Have you ever gone to Canada?

No. I asked her if she ever heard Canadian coins referred to as loonies or toonies.
Really, I've never heard the terms, and I've been to Canada more times than I can remember, although the last time was probably 10 years ago. In addition, when we lived in Philly, my coworker and best friend was Canadian - only thing that drove me nuts about her was she constantly complained how much better it was in Canada than in the States. Hubs and I hung out with her and her hubs nearly every weekend, and did holidays with her family (Mom, Dad, and sister - all Canadians) - and never once heard Loonies and Toonies.

Well, now no one will catch you off guard when it comes up.
Until? Until I mentioned them? You're inferring that you'll be listening for the words? Oh. He he! Until - that wasn't part of the conversation - that's your word. Uh, got it.
