Are you talking about beer cheese? That's what it's called; it's like a spread - thicker than a dip anyway. I think it's made with cheddar. You've tried other cheeses? Aside from Velveeta and American, I like all the cheeses you mentioned (if it's cheddar, I gotta go with extra sharp). The only cheese I don't like that I know of is brie; blue cheese is okay, only in small doses, and only if it's in something. I've never tried Limburger. Cheese is the perfect food, as far as I'm concerned, though good cheese can be expensive. I was at the grocery the other day, eyeing Jarlsberg and Gruyere (two of my favorites) but passed them over - both were over $14 a package (slightly less than a pound). I ended up with a chipotle Gouda for $7 a pound. I have always wanted to take BP to that deli Hubs and I went to in Ann Arbor when we toured Michigan Stadium. They had a cheese counter that stretched from here to there; in other words, it was long. They'd cut samples of anything you wanted to taste. Here's just a sampling of what they offer: www.zingermans.com/Category.aspx?Category=all_cheesesI know BP would love it; I'm sure she'd be in cheese heaven in such a place. Ann Arbor is a fun city; maybe a road trip is in order while I'm off work.

I don't know. It was several years ago - I found it at one of the center counters in the hallway of a mall in Millville NJ. There's a place that sells meats and cheeses - I get a magazine every year - anyway they had a display in the mall and I got a free taste of this cheese. Then I bought some. All I really remember was that it was pretty tasty stuff, was seasonal (they told me it was only available in the fall), and had something to do with beer.
In my younger and more foolish days, yes. What I found was that I didn't like much. The exceptions are so few and far between that I almost always so "no" to keep from offending some person who has slaved over a concoction they love and which I cannot help but make an ugly face about. No is so much less offensive for both of us.
Did I ever tell you I dated a girl from Ann Arbor? I drove her from McGuire to Ann Arbor for a weekend visit - don't remember the reason for the urgency but I told her I would if she needed to and she said she needed. What I can tell you is that it was fricking cold when I lowered the window to pay for getting off the interstate. The object of my affection was a nice person - I still wonder how she is sometimes.
Can you do that over a weekend? It's close enough? Then again, I guess it would be. If you happen to see the beer cheese, have a taste.
