Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas ~ Judy Garland
We were talking about sad Christmas songs in the other thread. This is one of my favorite Christmas songs, which I don't think is sad except in the context of the movie "Meet Me in St. Louis". The original lyrics were downright depressing, but Garland and director Minnelli (I don't know if they were married at the time), asked that they be changed.

I'll Be Home for Christmas - Bing Crosby (Originally written to honor soldiers overseas who longed to be home at Christmastime. Crosby's version is the most famous, but this was recorded by many both famous and infamous. It touches a chord like no other song and having spent two Christmas' in Turkey, and many others where "home" wasn't going to happen, I think I "feel" this one song as closely as any other. Calling mom a fan of Christmas is a gross understatement - knowing how much it bothered her when we couldn't get there just adds to the feeling.)
