I’m not sure how to get from your word to the dentist; but I can say sometimes the experience is dismal.

The extent of dismality is often in direct correlation to the malevolence of the dominatrix.

Yes yes, I see, and I appreciate how very cleverly you worked that one in there but, um, just for the purpose of clarification you understand, you counted this as 12345666666? Cause, the thread I'm looking at says it's the six letter word thread - not the more than one. So, I could go with Encephalomalacia which is counted 1234566666666666? Or maybe I should use one of the words I thought you'd select and say damsel? I blame the people renovating the house - it's their fault some how I'm sure.

Damnit! So what the heck did I do in the more than one letter thread, I'm wondering. Lemme go look.

damnit You know that's an interesting discussion all by itself. You see, the way I understand it is that it's either dammit or damn it. A quirk of English I suppose - different parts of the country say things differently. (I never understood how you can walk into a restaurant, say you want 'pop', and get Pepsi or Dr. Pepper or 7-Up.)
Here's another - why is it dimwit instead of dimwhit when what you want to say is that someone's whit appears dimmed?

Why not? Pop is what it is; it's just like asking for a soda or even a soda-pop. You don't ask for pop, and leave it up to the server to choose what kind. Where Hubs grew up though, it's all Coke...no matter if it's Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, or 7-Up.
No, it's their wit....a dimwit has barely a whit of wit. A nitwit has not even a whit of wit.

This morning when I woke up the first thing I thought of was this thread - and correcting it. But it's Saturday so I slept in and when I looked you’d already been here and gone - fixing it was no longer within my power.

Kids and I were going through photo albums during the Purge (which is ongoing), and there was a base newspaper clipping of Hubs and I at the pool; Hubs is wearing a Speedo (we were in our early 20s, and I have to say he looked good). LX and BP gave him hell though!
