I'd be willing to give it a try....perhaps. I have a Facebook page, but there's absolutely nothing on it; I don't even accept friend requests. The only reason I have the page is because I needed it to be an administrator on the nursery's page.
Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat) and message boards (though message boards are a form social media) are really completely different venues, I think, and it seems message boards are something that aren't as popular as they were years ago before other social media forms were in existence. Shoot, my kids don't even know what a message board is, and even rarely use Facebook anymore with the all the other options available (Facebook is for middle age and older, they claim)! I like message boards though, because the posts don't have to be just short blurbs - you can ramble as long as you want in a single post.
I know Q posts almost(?) daily to Facebook; Scrappy I think does as well, and Siren and I talked over the holidays - between her social media accounts, some of which are for her profession, something had to give, she said, and posting on message boards got too time consuming.
If a Whoosh Facebook group started, what I'd personally like to see happen (though I have doubts it will), is one venue be a springboard for the other, and both become active.

Okay. I'll set one up. I'll post the link here when it's ready.

K. I gotta figure out how I want to do this (and when I have time to do it!). I guess the best way is to create a completely separate Facebook account; right now my personal page is linked to the nursery's page, so when I jump to the nursery's page, I'm automatically posting as 'the nursery'. I want to keep that professional and completely separate from anything else.

Okay. That's why I created different accounts. To keep my author account separate from my Whoosh Admin account, and to keep them separate from my personal account.

One of these days I'll do it, hopefully soon. I did take a browse at the main page though, but don't want to request membership until I create a separate Facebook account. I saw that you have a link to Whoosh.org; maybe also put a link to the message board?

You can create a page, if you'd like. A lot of authors do that, and I've yet to find their real account page. Well, I did find one author's real account page, but that's only because she posted to that page with her real account, otherwise I'd never have found it.
That link pops up because of the .org in the link/URL. But, if I can link the board I will. I'm new to Facebook Groups, so I'm learning as I go.

Of course, it's never as simple as I'd hoped it would be. Tried to create a new account under a different name yesterday, and all it did was send an e-mail saying that I'd requested to reset my password on my current account, which I wasn't even logged into at the time. Sigh. Seems I need to get a different e-mail than the one that's attached to my current Facebook page.
Haven't done that yet.

Yeah. You have to use a different email addy per account.

Pfft!
Maybe I'll get around to it today; I had wanted to work outside (starting to get woefully behind in garden work), but since it's raining, I'll be stuck in the house.

I opened the Facebook group up to the public. I got to thinking that the boards are pretty much public, so why not the Facebook group? I asked first, and Q seconded me, so I opened it up. Not sure if this will bring in more members ... or get posting going.

I got a separate e-mail, a separate Facebook page, and requested membership, but haven't been back to it since. But you know all that. I just haven't had the time lately, (but have been thinking about it).

Yeah. I approved your membership last week. It's just you, me, me, Q & Kym.
