My county now has a total of 15 COVID-19 cases, and 12 of those have recovered. No deaths.

Our county has 174 cases and 7 deaths. I pay more attention to the surrounding counties though, because of our customer base - the Grand Rapids area reached 4,000 cases and 111 deaths.
I read a couple of reports that said it was any A blood type, not just A+. I'm A+; Hubs is O-. At least, I guess, if I need blood, Hubs can donate - A+ is the universal recipient, O- is the universal donor.
Facebook (and any social media platform) has always had an ugly side, which is why I pretty much stay away from them. All the unrest though seems to have brought out the worst in many people (and the best in others - that can't be ignored, though the worst is so ugly it is more glaring).
The Black Lives Matter protests had to happen - enough was enough a long time ago. That the killing of George Floyd was the last straw that triggered them happened in the middle of a pandemic is extremely scary. Or maybe though, the reason his death was the last straw is because there was already so much anxiety and unrest due to the pandemic - if there wasn't all that unrest, would his death be just another footnote in the long history of police brutality. What I guess I mean, is if people were just going about their normal lives content with everything in their own little world, would there be the massive response that there is now.

It could be that with most of the people being out of work, and having all the time in the world to think and act, the virus contributed to the protests. And maybe it could be because there were also so many deaths so close together. Or the deaths were just more focused on by the media? I'm sure the virus had a hand in it, but no doubt there was the right combination of other things that contributed to it as well. 2020 seems to be a big, ole messy melting pot.
And now that the bodies of JJ & Tylee have been found, I'm kind of wondering if Lori will be safe behind bars? Child killers tend to become targets in prison. And she never showed any concern for them. Well, why would she? She knew they were 'safe' in their graves. I kind of doubt she'll not end up in the melting pot. And, who knows what else is going to end up boiling over and igniting into flames? Maybe this virus was a ploy to keep most of us in and out of the way of the spillage going on.
Be safe, y'all.

So. Here we go.
Tuesday morning, when I'm normally at work, I sit here anxiously waiting to hear test results.
LX's Boyfriend called yesterday morning, very distraught - one of his co-workers who he's had close contact with, tested positive for Covid; the co-worker is currently asymptomatic, but someone who he has close contact with became ill.
We were all together Father's Day, social distancing outside, but when a heavy downpour started, we all came inside and played a board game around the kitchen table.
LX and the Boyfriend were tested yesterday; they should have the results back in 3-5 days. I just got a text from LX, saying they were on their way to a testing site that gives same day results, but I'm not sure they will be accepted since they just got tested the day prior.
We are all self-quarantining until the results come back.
I suspected this was going to happen sooner or later - only Hubs is able to work from home; the rest of us have to go to work and no matter how careful you are, you don't know how careful other people are being.

Oh god Phalon. Vox and I hope you are all going to be ok.
I went out did the shopping on saturday. Vox and I always wear a mask and gloves when we shop. I was amazed that in a store with probably a couple of hundred people in, I was the only one wearing a mask. I felt like screaming 'What is the matter with you people?'

Well crap. I hope none of you have the virus ... but if you do, I hope you all have mild cases that doesn’t need hospitalization.

Still haven't heard anything. The kids couldn't get into the testing site that gives same day results yesterday.
I feel like screaming that every day. I had a customer call me "stupid" last week at work because I asked him to put on a mask. He then stormed off in a huff to his vehicle while I waited on his wife, who did put a mask on. Sigh. What is the big f***ing deal - you wear one for me, I wear one for you, and we are both helping keep each other safer. I just don't understand people anymore.
The last time I was grocery shopping, I'd say about 1/3 of the people were wearing masks. It's like when the economy opened up the virus was gone, and even many of the people who were complying with the guidelines, now aren't. Argh.

It's quite simple. People are ignorant and arrogant. The younger ones think they are invincible because 'it only affects the older generation', and the rest think it's just like the flu 'it'll fade away in a little while!' When you've got an ignorant imbecile for a president it's no wonder.

If I chose not to wear a mask, and only I, and only other non-mask wearing people, was/were infected, that would be on me/them. But that isn’t the case. Those choosing not to wear a mask aren’t just messing with their own health, they are also messing with the health of those trying to protect themselves and others by wearing the mask. And they will spew their ‘facts’ that trump the ‘facts’ that shows why masks should be worn.
The thing is, is that there are people with agendas on every side that will manipulate the ‘facts’ to fit their view. And I’d rather be wrong choosing to wear the mask, than be wrong choosing not to wear the mask. I’m not siding with one ‘fact’ over another. I’m just making the choice I can live with if I have chosen wrong. Why can’t others be just as courteous? It isn’t like we’re going to do this for the rest of our lives, it’s just for a year, or up to two years. And we have other pandemics to look back on to prevent us from repeating history. Sadly, too many ignore the past, and we will have the same outcome. Numbers are rising, and it doesn’t seem we are going to get through this with a low death count.

Phalon, I'm glad the kids got the all clear, and hope that means you're all negative, too. I had my own little scare this month, but it turned out to be COPD, which was probably triggered by mowing my lawn. The possibility of having Covid was actually less stressful than the fact that I could barely breathe by the time I arrived at the ER, but I also live alone, and don't have to worry about spreading a contagious and potentially deadly virus to other people in my household, so there's that.
Of course, I also know now that I'm in a high-risk category, so there's also that.
We should meet up again soon, perhaps virtually, or in person, outdoors, while keeping our distance from each other and wearing masks. It has been quite a few years since our last meeting.
You didn't really think this would blow over in 2 weeks, did you? When the casino where I work shut down, they said it would be for 2 weeks, and I remembered thinking, "Well, it's a start."

Same with me MG, surrounded by naked faces, the hysteria over wearing a mask is baffling to say the least, as you say below, a lot of people don't seem to care. Glad to hear LX and BF, and Lesa, are okay, must have been a nerve racking experience for all.

The last time I was in town, there were a few not wearing masks. I will be getting out soon, so who knows what's going on out there now. Granted, I live in a small county, with low numbers, so I have better odds than those in more populated areas. But still, I'd feel better if everyone wore a mask. Be safe y'all.

I've experienced something amazing the last two times I was at the store - nobody was not wearing a mask! I went to Walgreen's last Thursday night about 8pm, and every single person there had on a mask. Yesterday morning at the grocery store, which was packed with people, it was almost the same thing - everyone had masks that I saw except for one mother and her two children, and a 40-something couple who came in as I was leaving.
It'd almost give you the idea that everyone was starting to take things seriously...except that I heard that the beach here this past weekend was jammed packed with people, not social distancing or wearing masks.
Sigh. The pandemic in this country is as bad as it's been - infection rates are skyrocketing especially in those states that opened too early, hospitals are filling up, states are pulling back on reopening, and people are ignoring basic precautions, having parties, drinking in bars, crowding beaches, mass protesting, and...holding presidential rallies. I honestly don't know what to say anymore, except maybe...

I was out with my sister today dropping off our paperwork to the taxman. (They don't make appointments ... you park, call them, they come out and get your papers.) And she stopped at a Dollar General Store on the way home, and not one of the people coming out of the store had on a mask. My sister wore one though, and as a claustrophobic, masks make her extremely anxious. She just sets limits of how long she will be inside.

Today is the first day of Michigan's mask mandate - masks must be worn inside all businesses, and outside in crowded places, or where social distancing is not possible. Individuals can get fined for not wearing a mask, and businesses can get fined for not enforcing the policy. I am really hoping this makes my job a bit easier - got b!tched at by three women on Saturday when I told them to "please wear your masks". They did not bring masks with them - coming all the way from Illinois to spend the weekend at the beach.
I went to the grocery store early - there was a big sign out front saying that masks are required. Everyone had one on....almost everyone. Sigh.
It's such a nice day, I thought I'd walk downtown to run my errands - to the post office to get stamps, to city hall to pay the utility bill, and to the bank. Last time I will do that, at least through tourist season - the sidewalks were crowded with few people wearing masks; I guess crowded sidewalks are not considered crowded enough to warrant putting on a mask. Out of state plates in addition to the obvious bordering states of Indiana and Illinois, many were alarmingly from Arizona and Florida - escaping the heat, or the virus? Or spreading the virus while escaping the heat. I ended up taking 'secret' alleys and passageways (secret only to people who don't live here) to weave my way through town, avoiding people.
I read Kentucky now has a mask mandate as well. And Melbourne is on lockdown again, although I don't know if all of Victoria is.
Stay safe all - it's getting exceedingly crazy out there.

My county has two active cases of COVID 19, and 16 that have recovered.
I would love to believe that all of this is fake, but how can all of the sick people be explained? I'm so sick of the conspiracies. And now it's the coin shortage, that is or isn't real. If our government can't be trusted, then why are we still giving it power over us? Why not just wipe out the government along with the police?
I really hate to think how depressed I'd be if I watched the news, and read newspapers. What little I'm getting comes from friends on Facebook. All the warnings not to fall for the fake virus and coin shortage. I just can't deal . . . so . . . deep breath . . . and . . . just . . . let . . . it . . . go . . . ... ... .

I haven't watched the news in ages. I would turn it on every so often, but now I don't even bother. I do get some news from social media, but I mostly just read the headlines and not bother with the rest of it. My county is still getting new cases from time to time. I need to go to the grocery store soon. I haven't been since June 4th, IIRC. I'm doing without a lot of stuff. And I'll be without even more soon, so can't put it off too much longer.

Cases have gone through the roof here in Victoria, far worse then the first outbreak, and most of the state is back in quarantine, with face masks to be mandatory from midnight tomorrow.
Doesn't help that a lot of idiots are apparently ignoring quarantine restrictions.
Can't see this ending any time soon unfortunately, just have to hunker down and do everything possible to stay healthy I guess.
Stay safe everyone.
