No crying. But the interviewee kept rambling and the interviewer kept interrupting the rambles. They both got p!ssed at the other. I hear boxed-wine may have been involved. I'm not sure - it was off-camera - but there's a rumor going 'round that a kitchen brawl ensued.
Nope on the bottled moonsand....I just typed "moodsand" (notice my attention to typos today), and wouldn't that be cool: stuff that changed when you held it, played with it, and got it hot in your hands. Hhmmm....maybe there is such a thing.
Moonsand comes in tubs. LMAO - so does that other such thing depending when the mood strikes.
Later Taters. I'm bringing in lunch to Hubs' office gang today. Twelve inchers and loaded - the bunch of them. I wonder if I can manage them all.....
....those submarine sandwiches can be heavy.

Remember that sports magazine article thing? I didn't forget - but thought the editor did. I haven't heard from him since I e-mailed him explaining I was too technically challenged for resolutions of higher sorts; we never got past the photo thing and he never mentioned whether he liked the article or not.
Today, I received the March issue of the magazine. There it is - my article with two of the pictures.
Edited just a bit here and there for length; they got a few of my sentences down to four or five words - can you imagine? And dang, I've never been edited - except that auto-edit thing here, (pussywillow, cockadoodle-doo....just checking). But Gabbin.....
...expect those phone calls to be rolling in soon. "My friend from Colorado....." remains intact - you didn't lose your head, or any other body parts in the slashing.

Thanks, Joxie.
And thanks for waving the wand over that Daylight Savings time notice on the bottom, and adding the date. I kept asking Hubs, "not tonight?", and had a hard time believing "no, not tonight" was his answer.
Cuz the conversation never goes that way.

You're very welcome.
For some reason, anything you post on the calendar is down there for the entire month. You'd think it would work like the birthdays and only pop up down there on the day it's posted on. I worried that no one would notice the date on the calendar post, so I edited the day into the title. I wondered how many I messed up before I made the change.

Go Gams. I may not be missing any parts but my head is getting bigger.
I finished reading the Dan Brown thriller Digital Fortress. It is a nice thriller, not as good as Da Vinci. Not quite as much meat, there. I just think he is terrible at romance, though, yick. But, like CSI, he is good at the tech stuff.
I am now reading Virgin Wool. It is mostly a picture book but gives a great look at Virginia. I am pleased to find that she was quite social and all. I don't think she felt very good, physically and, then, later, mentally but, she was still able to produce great writing regardless.

Gabbin - I just see you logged in as I'm ready to log out. One am here, and I must start counting sheep; if you're reading Virginia before bed, are the sheep made of Virgin Wool, and what kind of dreams would you knit? Something to ponder as I drift off to sleep.

As I drift off to sleep, I actually count Virgins...or Virginia Woolfs/Woolves. I am not sure. Somehow they blend and the big bad Woolf enters and eats Goldilock's and her bear everythings.
What a nightmare.

Oh, Phalon, I been meaning to tell ya. You can try using one of those disposable digital cameras that come with a CD the next time you take photos for an article. Film is still better than digital at the moment, and it should be of better quality. Worth a try.

Thanks, Siren. I think I might be biting off more than I can chew; I dunno, we'll see. I signed a contract to freelance write for a gardening magazine, and promptly got an assignment that's due before I have time to write it. No not really, but feeling pressure.
And thanks to you too, Joxie - I'll keep it in mind. I think if I can reset my camera settings I'll have a better resolution next time. If I remember to take my camera next time.
And here I sit now getting a headache from looking at this brand new, only installed minutes ago new flat, wide screen computer monitor so bright I'm squinting and wondering where the heck my sunglasses might be. There's gotta be a brightness control thingy somewhere on this thing, but I can't find it, and pressing buttons only brought up sound thingies which I can't control yet either. Built in speakers and a flat screen!!! You should see the room on my desk! Look quick because it'll soon be buried, I'm sure.
But damn, I feel like I'm typing on a drive-in movie screen. I hate change. Grrrrr. Why this? Hubs found it on sale.

HA! I think I've got this thing beat - three days into the time change, and I maybe am getting used to it, (ask me in three hours when I'll probably be wide wake because I know it'll really take me a week to adjust, not a mere three days).
But I did figure out how to change the time in my profile there all by myself without bothering Fairly Bored Mom.....only cuz they change it and made it a "yes" or "no" question.

Hi again Phalon and everyone else I haven't met yet.
Going back to what you were saying about having your children late, I had mine early, they are all grown up now and I am absolutely loving the grandchildren, I have 5, 3 girsl and two boys (grandchildren that is!) I myself only had 2 daughters, and yes, I sometimes felt like I was missing out by not going out, but as I said they have flown the nest now and it's just me and hubby rambling about the house or on our computers! lol. Enjoy your children while you can, they grow up too quickly!

Hiya Vox. Two girls, eh? Same here, aged almost 6 and almost 12, (you gotta get that "almost" in, because it's a required thing as a kid, whereas adults go backward: I'm not forty-two; I'm fortyish).
The girls are a trip - one minute they're best friends or the older is lovingly teaching the younger something; two seconds later they're picking at each other - and each knows just what to do to get under the other's skin.
This gets better as they grow older? Maybe when they are old enough to move out and I can't hear it anymore.

Yep, you got it in one! things do definitely get better when one or both of them move out! But I must say, I still miss the conversation! (don't tell hubby!)

Yes, yes - conversation. It is never lacking in my house. What was that fact Maeve posted about the average person uttering 4,800ish words a day. HA! BP, the youngest, gets at least that many out before noon, and the other is not far behind.
And some of the things - they crack me up. I was talking to Mom on the phone the other day, retelling her a story of something BP said. Mom replied that I should write this stuff down and present it to them when they're adults, or just write to go back later a get a good laugh. I told her it was a good idea - which it probably is, because I've already forgotten what she said.
That happens when so many words fly.
Vox - just curious about your screen name. Voice? Vox populi in Latin means voice of the people, I think.

Just something I'd seen Phalon, thought it was unusual, as for the voice of the people! ha ha, hubby would probably agree with you, he's always telling me to shut up!
Good idea in theory, (writing things down that the children say) but where on earth would you find the time to do it? and anyway, by the time you've written down the first thing, they've gone and said another dozen 'funny' things! My mind is like cotton wool, although my middle grandaughter came on the phone on Sunday last and said "Hello Mum" and she's only two! I think it's because she listens when my daughter is talking to me, she's hear her say "Hello Mum". I had to laugh and then she proceeded to tell me her full name and then said "look" as if I could see her through the phone! ahh bless, I shall miss it when they've all grown up and don't want to talk to you anymore!

Just bumping this thread to get Winter off the front page.
Because I don't want to see it anymore. Back to work next week, and shoot why won't it stay away? My daffodils are going to get frost-bitten. So are my toes.

I just described what sounds like a similiar pattern to yours, Vox, in the Spring thread. Why don't you pop over there, and tell us what spring is like in the UK? Wet - I'd bet. Last time I was there - which was a long time ago - the first thing we had to do was purchase a couple of umbrellas...bumpers, yes?

Thanks for the reminder, Fairly Bored Mom. But that was two days ago, and I've already forgotten.
No, no, no - just kidding; my memory isn't that bad.
It's the time - while I'm logged in, it's correct, but it's an hour behind if I'm just browsing. It's just one of those things that annoys me only because I don't know why, or how to fix it.

The Proboard forums no longer change from daylight savings time and back again. You have to put a checkmark in the 'daylight savings' box in your profile now. Some guests/lurkers will only have the correct time at certain times of the year.

Check on the check; it's marked. So what you're saying Mini Bored Mom, is that this is something that'll just be - there's no way to fix it?

Oh, and Vox - do you read in here? Congratulations on achieving reaching your 100th post. Most don't make it past two or three.
A song in your honor.....
A hundred of Vox's posts on the board, A hundred of Vox's posts. Take one down, pass it around, Why? I'm not sure. That's the way the song goes.

Check on the check; it's marked. So what you're saying Mini Bored Mom, is that this is something that'll just be - there's no way to fix it? Not when you're lurking as a guest . . . No. You can only adjust the time when logged into your user account.

Yeah, I understand you have to be logged in to change your user account. I changed it when the time changed, so the time is right when I'm logged in. But is there a way to make the time when I'm lurking - let's call it reading to catsup instead - lurking sounds sneaky...although there is not much catsingup to do here lately....which reminds me it's time to compile the weekly update; it should be quite easy since there is not much to report on lately....
What the hell was I saying?
Oh yes; now I remember - is there a way to make the time correct while I'm just here reading and not logged in.
