Happy Birthday, Lucystar, wherever you are.
Wow, now there's a name from the past! I'll raise a glass of mead in the long-since silent Tavern in honor of her day. Cheers.

I hope that little bird wasn't red, and commit the Cardinal sin of giving away the age of Whoever You Are.
Thanks, Poppet.

Sweetpea! I was thinking about you just yesterday. "Sweetpea's birthday is coming up", I told myself, "I've got to get the date right this year." You're about a week early; I decided it was the 12th.
I know where you are, but what the hell, since you're not here, I'll carry on with this birthday thread tradition....
Happy Birthday, Dear Sweepea.....wherever you are. Cheers!

It's a quick howdy-do for all the people that I have not forgotten, but actually will have to be reminded who you are. It's been a long time since I have put my two cents worth in and have a lot of catching up to do. Phalon, where in the heck have you been?? Your email does not work and I thought you set out your skis and never came back. Since this is the birthday post, mine is coming up in a 10 days and I just had the most fabulous early surprise 60th birthday party! Never had one..and actually haven't really had a birthday party since I was 10. Guess once you get past puberty it seems ?? childish? Not for me. It was a "fake" company Christmas party I thought I was going to and it had been in the planning for months. My children, I rarely get to see, came and there was lots of tears and laughter. Anyone remember their best birthday party as a kid? Mine was when I was 10 at a fancy restaurant in Florida and they brought out my cake with sparklers on it. So from 10 - 60, these two are tops!

Leafsoup, Leafsoup....are you still here? Don't disappear again for another couple of years, Girlie, you hear?
Where am I? I am here, of course....like a chocolate stain on the fabric of Whoosh; once I set in, I'm impossible to remove. And no, no...my e-mail is the same address it's always been, and is working. Unless it took a day or two off without prior notification, and then I shall have to charge it unauthorized leave.
Very cool about your Sixtieth Surprise Birthday Party, and your children being able to attend! Now, how great is that? And because this is the birthday thread, HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY to you!!! Check back later for more - I've just marked the actual date on my calendar. (Remind me if I forget....I'm horrible with dates; I haven't been on one since I married Hubs, and that was decades ago).
In the meantime, a very Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to You.

Mary's Photobucket files are so cool. She has thousands of them and I can't help but smile in my heart as I browse through all the stuff that I know made her happy. It was like everything else with her--she went through a stage where she would sit for hours downloading happy smiley emoticons. Let's throw up another one just because...

Ah, Stepper, I was going to be really upset had you not stopped by to leave me some birthday love. And you came through in a big way! Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. Silly me. I kept waiting for something from Mary today. A card...something that "signaled" to me that it was from her. Pfft. What a fool I am. No card, no "special" messages, no leftovers of any kind. What's a girl to do? I even ran into the lady tonight that holds the suicide survivor meetings twice a month and even she talks about Mary in the past tense. I still don't do that. I can't imagine thinking about her like that. Anyway, thank you, Step, for the birthday love. It means more than you know right now.

Think I've missed the deadline by a couple of hours but I'm sure you know it's still from the heart, hope you had a great day, at least as great as possibly under the circumstances. Happy Birthday Champ.

Thank you, Katman!! I like drawing it out...the longer the better! And now I suppose this may be a reach, but to me it was a gift. I spent all day yesterday playing that waiting game for some silly sign from Mary that of course, never came. Until this morning. When I pulled in my parking space at work, the first thing I saw was a tiny bouncy ball lying in the middle of the spot next to mine. I couldn't believe it. You probably don't remember, but Mare collected bouncy balls her entire life. She had over 300, one-of-a-kinds that she displayed in this giant gumball machine looking case. Repeats she gave away to kids--or adults--anytime her playing caught someone's eye. It's the one thing that she mentioned in her letter that she wanted daughter #2 to have. I'll keep it until she grows up a little more. Anyway. In my heart, this was her way of letting me know that she didn't forget...and it made my heart smile.

I'll refrain from commenting on the above....in the name of appearing civilized, you know.
Never look a gift bouncy ball in the mouth....uhm...cuz basically they don't have mouths. Except those four smilies in Mare's collection in the photo....and if the little bouncy in the parking spot brings a smile like that to your face and in your heart, I'd say it's a pretty special gift, Sis.
