I've never heard of the "Man-Bat."

Kirk Langstrom/Man-Bat was a scientist who was studying bats for medicinal purposes. Making a bat extract and drinking it, he transformed into a giant human bat.

So that's how he became the man-bat. I'm assuming this man-bat turns out to be a villain after something goes awry?
It would be interesting to see a good, non-animated version of this man-bat in a movie.

Actually, Man-Bat has been written as both villain and sometimes hero, depending on the story. I'm more surprised at the choosing of Peter MacNichol for the voice. During the first series, the voice was done by Marc Singer. Peter doesn't seem to me to have the right voice for that character.

I don't know what Marc Singer sounds like, but Peter MacNicol's voice seems a bit small for a giant bat. Then again, bats are known to have such high-pitched 'voices' that humans can't hear them, so maybe Peter is perfect for the part. Not that his voice is high-pitched, mind you. It's actually pretty deep for a bat.

Well... who ever would have thought that Robbie Benson could have voiced the beast? I certainly wouldn't have guessed he was capable of it.

Marc Singer starred in the series "V" and in the "Beastmaster" movies.

I don't know who Robbie Benson is, but now I know who Marc Singer is. I saw V, and I remember him in Beastmaster.

The singer from the 70's? I know about him, but I thought he went by Bobby Benson.

I only knew him as an actor... don't know about being "Bobby Benson". Robby is very soft spoken, so I was shocked to learn he was the voice of "The Beast".

Searching around, he's apparently done just about everything in entertainment from singing/songwriting, broadway, directing, acting, etc. I just thought I remembered an album (record) cover with him and a woman, from back in the 70's. I could be wrong though, since I can't seem to find it anywhere.
