I saw something the other night that I might tune in for a few more episodes, but probably won't watch the entire season because it seemed...hhmmmm...what's the word I'm looking for - a little bit sensationalized, or maybe not entirely authentic. "Undercover High" was the show, in which a group of young adults in their 20s go back to high school, posing as students to gain an inside look at what really goes on in the life of a student. I watched, of course, because I've got a kid in high school, and some of the stuff on the first show was pretty frightening (one of the girls, for example, gets inadvertently added to a group chat that's about her - 20 or so guys making vulgar suggestions about what they'd like to do to her, including rape).
I thought it was important enough a topic to re-watch the show the following night with BP, aside from the on-line group chat which occurred after school hours, most of the show she dismissed as kids doing stupid sh!t just for the sake of being filmed doing stupid sh!t.
Oh, I forgot about Pitbulls and Paroles - she and I have watched that together for years.

Vox and I have been catching up on shows that we missed first time round. Unforgotten, Hinterland, The Tunnel, River and Whitechapel. And of course Vox has to have her daily evening soap fix of Eastenders.

My viewing should pick up now that the Fall shows will be starting up. Elementary ended it's latest season last night. Tomorrow night will end The Sinner's 2nd season, and will be the Summer finale for Suits.
Next Monday, I'm going to check out the reboot of Magnum PI to see if it might be something I'd watch. I loved the original, but I just can't see anyone replacing the actors who played Magnum & Higgins. Tough acts to follow. The Good Doctor returns as well. I loved the 1st season, so I'm looking forward to the 2nd one.
Next Tuesday, NCIS returns. I'm fairly bored of the show, but I love the characters/actors too much to abandon them. There's a new FBI show that will air after them, but I'm only gonna check out the one episode to determine if I'm gonna be a regular viewer. I'm pretty sick of cop shows. I'm also pretty sick of lawyer and doctor shows too. I won't take on any new shows with this theme unless they have a really good hook. (Such as: The Good Doctor.)
Criminal Minds returns October 3rd.
Midnight, Texas: October 26th. <--- Loosely based on the Charlaine Harris trilogy.
Murphy Brown: September 27th. <--- I watched every week years ago. That doesn't mean I'll feel the same way about the new season.
Legacies: October 25th. <---- I stuck it out with both Vampire Diaries & The Originals because I loved the characters/actors. I'm kind of tired of being loyal to bad writing, just because of the actors and how well they play with what they're given. I will check it out, but I'm hoping I can drop it like a hot potato instead of wasting time on it. (Too many shows have disappointed me with their endings, and I feel my loyalty is betrayed. All that time wasted for nothing. Time I could have spent doing something more worthwhile.)
Charmed: October 14th: Another reboot I'm willing to check out.
Outlander: November 4th. Loved the books. Strongly like the show.
2019 Returns & New Shows:
iZombie Siren Shadowhunters
Roswell, New Mexico <--- Loved the original series. (After it was canceled. Saw reruns on SyFy Channel. Sister got me all 3 seasons for Christmas when Mom was very ill. Happy Christmas memory. I binge-watch them when I'm depressed.) I will check out the reboot to see if it can be as good, or better, than the original. Gonna be hard to beat the actors. (Although, I noticed some of the actors I really loved to watch in other shows are in this. Smart move.)
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists === I might check this out. Another show with great characters and actors who played them, but bad writing. And a disappointing ending. Not sure I want to jump back on that bandwagon. Too many shows before this have put a bad taste in my mouth. Do I really want to be fooled again?
Show I'm looking forward to ... if it gets picked up:
The Chemist: based on Stephenie Meyer's book. www.imdb.com/title/tt7942802/
Shows I remained loyal to to the end, because of the actors/characters, but the writing and the series endings disappointment me. (I'm not saying there weren't some good episodes ... just that there were a lot of not so good ones.)
Burn Notice Vampire Diaries The Originals Pretty Little Liars Chuck Once Upon A Time Medium The Ghost Whisperer Sleepy Hollow Bones The Good Wife The Mentalist Beauty and the Beast reboot ... should have avoided it, but didn't. Switched at Birth <--- Didn't know the last season had started and missed it. Was debating not watching it anyways. Lost <—— such great potential.
I was gonna quit Castle, but stuck it out for the last season. I was debating dropping iZombie, but it has one last season, so will see it through. Dropped American Horror Story because of the bad writing. Love the actors and the set design crew/s ... hate the writing. I've been tired of Criminal Minds for a while now. Still watching for Dr. Spencer Reid & Penelope Garcia. When they go, I go.

We watched the season premier of AHS last week. This season, "Apocalypse", is supposed to be a combination of the "Murder House" and "Coven" seasons, so a couple weeks prior to this season's opener, the kids and I binged watched "Murder House"; I've never seen it (I started watched mid-way through "Asylum"; I never went back to watch the beginning of that season either). I wasn't going to go back and watch an entire season, but I'm glad the kids talked me into it - "Murder House" is my favorite now.
Last season was the only one I gave up on before the end; "Cult" wasn't too far-fetched as to what is going on in this country, and where it could lead.
As far as bad writing in the series - it reminds me a lot of the entire series of Lost. About midway through each season of AHS, things get so far out there it gets ridiculous, until near the end when everything is brought together for the conclusion.
Still love Criminal Minds, and looking forward to the season premier. Reid and Garcia are my favorites also.
Actually, Wednesday night is the only night of television I watch with regularity: Survivor, Criminal Minds, and American Horror Story. The new season of Survivor starts tonight.
Only other show I tune in each week for is "This is Us", which starts again next Tuesday.

The Murder House is my favorite season. At the end of the second season, I said I was done, but I’d take a peek at the next seasons first episode, and the actors and sets would pull me in. I did that for each following season, and after the Hotel one I decided that no matter how great the commercials, I would NOT watch the first episode, and I didn’t. It wasn’t too hard for the political season, I’m not into politics.
I added Lost to my ‘betrayal’ List. There are way more I could add, but they’ve slipped my mind. I had to do searches for past TV schedules to get some of what I had on that list.

Aside from last season, I've enjoyed each season of American Horror Story....and found parts of each season ridiculous (to include Murder House, though that was mostly irritation with a couple characters rather than story-line). Part of what I like is finding little blurbs of strange, obscure, or horrifying history that are woven into the story. It was a coincidence, for example, that we had a discussion at work about the Black Dahlia a few weeks ago and then, what you do know, Elizabeth Short shows up in Murder House. Ooooo, all those strange pieces of history in AHS sounds like something for the 31 Days of Halloween - it's getting close.
The guide I was using for season premier dates was wrong - Survivor starts next week.

Vox and I had not heard of this show. However we found the first series on NOWTV and binge-watched it over the last couple of weeks. What a good show! Very diffrent from the usual predictable medical shows. Reminded me a little of Chicago Hope. I like shows that are a little quirky and off-beat.

Different is good. I'm tired of the cookie-cutter shows that try and be like all the other shows out there.

Just started watching an Australian drama series on Netflix called The Code (2014). One of the stars is Lucy Lawless.

Hhmmm...I'll have to see if it's on Netflix here (I'm assuming different countries have different programming?). Did a quick drill and found it won all kinds of awards in Australia.
The finale of American Horror Story: Apocalypse was the other night, and it was a good one. All in all, I really enjoyed this season, and the tie-ins to the Murder House and Coven seasons, with a lot of the same characters returning, if some only for brief appearances (way too little of Angela Bassett's Marie Laveau!). Only one, IMO, really ridiculous episode with extremely annoying new characters, but they were bit-players who were never heard from again. Maybe a couple of plot-line holes along the way, but the season as a whole ranks among my favorites.

Pretty sure there's a TV thread around here somewhere but danged if I can find it (and I'm too lazy to search) so just wondering if anyone has caught "Gentleman Jack" based on the life of Anne Lister, and also an aussie show called "Mr Inbetween" which follows the exploits of Ray Shoesmith, devoted to daughter Brittney and ailing brother Bruce, loyal friend, oh and also happens to be a hitman.
Here's a trailer ................

Wouldn't bother thanks just the same Jox, have a feeling I'm the only one who's seen them so I'd most likely just be talking to myself, and I'm not that interesting at the best of times.

I have a watch list on IMDb:
www.imdb.com/user/ur2741467/watchlist
There are a few things on that list I haven’t seen yet, and they’re there as reminders to see someday. And a few things that are future projects, that may or may not happen.

Vox and I have been playing catch-up with Chicago Med, reminded us both a lot of ER which we used to watch. Also been watching the new series on Sky, Cobra.
Looked for this show over here Kat, but couldn't find it anywhere. Shame because we've watched a few aussie shows on Netflix in the past.
