I love MSNBC's title for this story: Commander in Disbelief. Of all the pathetic excuses I have heard coming out of this guy's mouth, now he's blaming Geena Davis and Commander in Chief for his low approval ratings! It's not the show that's hurting his approval ratings, but I'm sure one reason for the show's popularity is everyone's disgust with Dubya and his administration, and the American public's overwhelming desire for something better. West Wing still gets good ratings, and I'm sure the desire for something better is one reason for that show's success as well, but I've never heard the idiot blame Martin Sheen for being too good of a president. Not only is Dubya's excuse for his low approval ratings pathetic, but the fact that he actually challenged a fictious president to a debate, combined with his repeated claims of actually talking with Jesus — not to Jesus, but with Him — only proves he is insane. Look out, Zell Miller, Savior Dubya has arrived! It's no wonder this country is going downhill real fast. So many of our "leaders" belong in mental institutions! I was laughing while reading this, but it really is pretty scary to know that not only is the "leader of the free world" corrupt, but he's insane. I really loved Geena's response to Dubya's challenge: Yes, Dumbya may have time to take several month-long vacations every year, but helping people warm up to the idea of a female president who will actually make decisions based on what is best for the country's citizens is important and time-consuming. Edit: I forgot to mention that his chauvenism is on display yet again with his 'fake girl president' comment, and it only proves that appointing those women for high-ranking positions was just a ploy to sucker more women into voting for him, and, dare I say it — approval ratings. Gee, and I thought he didn't care about those darned approval polls...

I just couldn't help myself, so I forwarded the story to Lorne Michaels. I'm sure he already knows about it, but I wanted to make sure, and will be watching their "Weekend Update" intensely tomorrow night.

But who can we REALLY be mad at??
Dumbya?? He's clearly not very bright.
The fact that only about 60% of the eligible voters actually got up off their backsides and voted in the last presidential election??
The fact that government has become so corrupt that people don't believe their votes will count in a system were special interests and lobiests have direct influence over the candidates??
The fact that government has become so corrupt because people don't vote??

All of the above, and let's add...
The mainstream media for reporting superficial 'stories' instead of substantial ones, and finally reporting major stories years after they happened (Libby/Rove, which I already knew about two years ago), only after it has become so painfully clear to the public that there is no way they can avoid the story.
The Radical Religious Republicans (RRR, which clearly resemble the KKK, and are to Christianity what Osama is to Muslim (fakes)), a group that Dumbya, Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and all the other extreme right freaks who try their damndest to combine church and state, going so far as to try and change the constitution to make a way for Ahnold (the man who admires Hitler) to become president.
That same RRR who try to make everyone believe that liberals are evil, Godless beings, when liberals clearly believe in civil rights and helping the downtrodden, something the RRR obviously isn't interested in, and they claim to be for family values when their top spokesmen are committing criminal acts that go against the very values they preach. Some role models they are.
Now Dumbya has made a statement claiming that liberals are revising history with the way he misled us into war, when everything is well-documented to show that Dumbya was lying then and is lying now.
Although Dumbya's approval rating is finally down to about 33%, and 60% say without a doubt that he is untrustworthy, it is a little too late because he still has 3 years left to screw up this country even more.
There are plenty of other aspects of this whole thing to be angry about, but better than get angry, the best chance is to inform people who can't or won't take the time to inform themselves. To show Republicans that not all Republicans are good, to show Liberals that not all Liberals are good, for each side to understand what the true members of the other's party stands for, and to help people know the difference and realize when they are being lied to. It is radicals like Dumbya and Limbaugh on the right, and Moore and MoveOn.org on the left, who have divided this country so horribly. People need to realize that there is more than just Republican and Democrat, and that the radicals do not speak for their general parties overall.
As well, those who preach bipartisanship should start practicing it. I say Hilary should run for president in '08 with McCain for her running mate. ;D Despite his brown-nosing of the president in the '04 election and giving the benefit of the doubt where WMD's are concerned, I think he would make a good vice under Hil.

QUOTE...."The mainstream media" You mean like Fox and Friends who were constantly trashing Hillary Clinton while falling in line with Bush and his cronies about what a great idea the patriot act was.

And what pissed me off (I'm not angry with you Le )was that there was NO mention that the article was a satire when I first clicked on the link.

What's really scary is that it was actually believable after all the other things he has said and done. I didn't even notice the word "Satire" in their image header, and when they put it with the word "Report," it sounds like actual news. I guess I should've known better when there weren't thousands of results for the search I did on a phrase from the article posted above.

When I first clicked on the link, it DIDN'T say satire and you're right, it DOES sound like something he would do. But what ticked me off is that about a week AFTER I posted it at one of my yahoo groups, someone pointed out it was just a satire so I clicked the link again and all of a sudden, it said that the article was a satire when it didn't before. If they're gonna make up false news reports, why don't they just hire Jayson Blair?

Here I thought I just didn't notice it, but it's even worse if it wasn't even there before. Maybe they should've just had Michael Moore tell the story. Then again, I only know him to greatly distort facts and maybe inject a little fiction here and there, but I don't know of him making up entire stories out of thin air. Why can't people just tell the truth? It's freaks like them who make liberals look bad. Not that there aren't plenty of freaks making conservatives look bad... Rove - I mean Dumbya - and his whole administration, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilley...
