I thought I'd check to see what of my shows won't be back this Fall:

Has Jericho officially been cancelled? I heard the show was saved from the chopping block, at least temporarily, but can't find it in any fall line-up.

Last I heard it will be back. They may be holding off to put it in a time slot to replace one of the new series' if it is cancelled after only a couple of airings.

I know what you mean, Mia. But I do feel sorry for the Ryan girl. It seemed as though many people, including me, blamed her for the show being bad. But it was not her fault she was miscast. It was the fault of the producers. But I think the fatal flaw of the show was the writing. It's like they couldn't figure out what they wanted - a straight, Alias-style action show, a dark, dramatic, girl-deals-with-sudden-superpowers show..or even something in-between. And to expect someone with no previous martial arts experience, and little action sequence experience, to pull off an Alias-type show is just foolish. I was thinking that if they'd gone more with the lighter mood of the original series, with lots of bionic running, feats of strength, and simple fight scenes, Michelle's girl-next-door wholesomeness might've been fine in the role. But she's just not a Matrix-style leading lady.
I was looking at a list of series' that are due to return, and didn't see CBS' vampire show, "Moonlight", among them. But in reading comments on the series' imdb.com page, it looks as though it'll be back, at least temporarily. Fans said they received this email from the network, in answer to their inquiries about the show's fate:
“Thank you for watching Moonlight and for your incredible support of the series. We are excited that the series will be coming back in April with four new, original episodes. Like any new television series, a decision to renew for next season is largely based on how many viewers watch the program. We encourage you to tell your friends about the upcoming episodes and work with us to find more viewers for Moonlight.”
So, I guess we'll get to enjoy the talented, lovely Sophia Myles and her beautiful leading man, Alex O'Loughlin, for at least a little longer.

Bionic Woman: I thought the actress did fine in the day to day parts of the show. Hated seeing her in action scenes though. If the writing had been better, I wonder if that would have helped her, or if she just didn't have the experience for this type of show at this time? I'd love to see her in something else. It'd also be nice if she used her own accent.
Moonlight: I like this show, and the leads, but I just don't see how they can keep the series going. Too me, there's really not much of a plot there. And what little they had was lost when his wife showed up. Although the cliff hanger where she was taken by her family does have my curiosity piqued.

Mia, I agree that in the "Bionic Woman" episode in which Jamie spoke with a British accent, Michelle Ryan was quite good. Seemed much more relaxed, and was even charismatic. I think she was simply too young and inexperienced for a role that required such big changes for her, namely an American accent and convincing fighting skills. I think she'd probably do fine in a straight dramatic or light comedic role, especially if she got to keep her British accent.
Makes you appreciate Lucy Lawless' work on Xena even more, doesn't it? Her American accent was excellent (always made me giggle when her accent immediately slipped in the blooper reels). And her fight scenes were completely convincing, which is especially impressive when you consider that Lucy has described herself as "uncoordinated".
As for "Moonlight", I missed a couple of episodes, and was unaware that a wife had turned up. Where does that leave Mick and Beth? I thought they had sexy chemistry.
I will be surprised if they can save that show, unfortunately. I agree that the leads are appealing. But the writing and plot are weak. I mean, do we really need another detective show, even if the detective is a vampire? And I just can't get over the vampire being able to walk around in the sunlight.

They should have known that "Moonlight" would be compared to "Forever Knight." I only caught a few eps now and then because it was on so late at night, but it was a much better show as far as plot and writing. They could have come up with other lines of work that fit a vampire. Night club owner. Even the short-lived "Kindred" was really good. I also liked the two "Underworld" movies. If done just right, that story might have made a good series.
Sorry I spilled the beans on his wife still being alive. But there are a couple of surprises I didn't spill, so you still have something to look forward to.

No worries about the spoiler, Gams. So, is the Mick/Beth semi-romance all done, then?
I like the original "Underworld" a lot. The second, not so much. But, yes, good potential for a series. Good idea!

Yeppers, the semi-romance was over when the last filmed ep was shown. It had nothing to do with the wife though. She did put a crimp in things, but she wasn't the last straw. I don't want to ruin the repeats for ya.
I liked the first Underworld the best, but thought the second one was pretty good too. I'm sure it could have been better, but it wasn't awful. And there's a third one on the way. It's a prequel. It deals with the back story seen in the first movie flashbacks.

Hmmm..a prequel - interesting! And with Rhona Mitra? Yay! I'm a fan of her. Among her roles, she was the lucky gal who played Goran Visnjic's wife in the tv-movie "Spartacus". Mmmm..and she got paid to kiss him!

Thanks for the link, Joxie. All that shows I watch have been renewed....except one. And damn, damn, damn, it was my favorite! "Life" - a show I've always seen referred to as "under-rated" or "the best show no one is watching".
On Wednesdays at 9pm - up against "Lost" - it got the life sucked right out of it.

Double the "thanks", Jox!
All mine made it except "Without a Trace".
What about Harper's Island, Gams? Decide it was too many spookies for you?!

Did anyone watch Criminal Minds last night?
I could be really upset in the Fall...

Yeah, Phalon, I liked "Life" too. I taped it and "Lost" while I watched and taped "Criminal Minds" & "CSI:NY". At least CBS picked up "Medium", or I would have lost that one too. I was getting bored of "Without A Trace", but kept watching it because I liked the actors & characters.
And yes, Q, I saw the ending of "Criminal Minds", and I'm wondering if 'someone' might be leaving the show. Then again, ya never can tell with cliff hangers. I try not to see spoilers if I can help it, so it won't ruin the new season's followup. I'm sure though, that if the actor is leaving the show, rumors will fly over the summer.
"Ugly Betty" got renewed, but I'm getting a bit bored with it. I wouldn't have cried if it had been canceled ... "Ghost Whisperer" jumped the shark this season (IMHO), so I wouldn't have been sad to see it go either. It was renewed, but I'm not planning on keeping up with it anymore. Unless they fix the jump that screwed up everything for me.

Nope, I'm still watching Harper's Island, TG. (Thanks for the reminder! I missed it last week, and need to "View on Demand" before tomorrow night's episode.) I was surprised to see it was not renewed - not because it's a good show, (it's really very predictable), but because I was under the assumption it was more like a mini-series type thing, and was only going to run for a few months anyway. I'll be irked if it doesn't have an ending.
I pretty much gave up "Lost" for "Life"; Lost just got too ridiculous in IMO, though I did sort of keep up by catching it on View on Demand, (I love that cable option). Because I knew its final season is next year, I figured I'd stick it through to find out how it ends.
Can you tell I like endings? I hate being left hanging, and damn again, now I'll never know if Charlie figures out who framed him for the murders that got him sentenced for "Life". Drats!

Harper's Island has filmed all 13 episodes, but I don't know if that means they'll all air. And I never thought there would be a 2nd season since ...
S * P * O * I * L * E * R * * * S * P * A * C * E
everyone seems to be getting killed off.

Ghost Whisperer, Numbers, Heroes, Cold Case, Legend of the Seeker have all been canceled. GW & LOTS are doing a campaign to get picked back up though. And this is Lost's final season as well. When these boards are closed and moved to the graveyard, I don't plan to create new boards to the list. They don't see much activity, so why bother? I'll only create new boards if a show looks really good.
Until a show gets its own board, post about it here. Thanks. If a show dominates this board, I'll most likely create a board for it, and move the threads to it.

Damn! I just found out Mercy was cancelled after its season finale. I can't say it was a good show, or that I'm disappointed it was cancelled; it was like a soap opera, and I just kind of got sucked into watching it.
But ARGH! The season finale was a cliff-hanger, with two of the main character's lives left hanging. Did they die or didn't they? Pfft. No one will ever know.

Yeah, I hate when that happens. I wish they'd do movies for my favorite shows and give them closure, but I guess they fear they won't get their money back, so why bother.
ABC passed on Ghost Whisperer, so the board has been closed and archived. Haven't heard yet if Legend of the Seeker managed to get saved, so the board will remain open for now.
I saw somewhere that TNT won't renew/save Law & Order, so I'll have to see which series they're referring to and which series are still ongoing. That board will remain for as long and any of the series is going.
