Even though the first part with Xena dragging Gabrielle is kind of hard to watch, I really love this episode. I love the music and Lucy is such a great singer and so was Kevin Smith. I also liked the fact that they were able to get through some tough problems and still be best friends.

It's so great to use the extra talents that come with some actors/actresses and this cast was no exception! Kevin, Ted and Lucy's voices were spectacular to listen to! *is listening to OST at the moment*
Costuming was great and the water scene with Solan was so tearful and beautiful.
I think that Joseph LoDuca did a great job with the compositions -- Lucy did an especially great job in 'Hearts are Hurting' and 'The Love of Your Love'
As a music appreciator (see sn, lol) this one really did strike a nice chord in my soul.

I think it's just a work of genius. The only bit that doesn't work quite so well for me is when they're in the hall with the echoes. The slightly dodgy CGI doesn't help, but I'm not really fond of that bit for some reason. But the whole War & Peace song is fantastic and Lucy's "The Love of your Love" at the end never fails to bring a tear to my eye - and what a performance that is. I knew Lucy could sing, and thought Ted probably could from the Joxer song, and I knew that Renee was being dubbed, but the real suprise for me here was Kevin Smith. You just never would have thought of him as a singer, but he's fantastic. The line that always sticks in my head is Ares saying: "Nothing more need be said. Ding dong, the shrew is dead". I was never very sure of this episode when I first saw it, it took me a while to really appreciate it for some reason. I remember when I first saw Buffy's "Once More With Feeling" I was completely gobsmacked and loved it to bits, but I've found I've become very bored of OMWF, whereas The Bitter Suite is one that I want to keep rewatching. I'm sure I've watched it now twice as much as any other XWP episode.

I liked the Alice in Wonderland type thing. I thought Gabby's dress could have been prettier though. But all in all I really loved this ep. because of the meaning.

I liked how the Bitter Suite was so different from normal Xena episodes. It was really fun to see all those old characters in new costumes, and singing too. My favorite part was the "Warriors love war" vs "Villages love peace" sequence... but I'll always have a special place in my heart for Xena and Gabrielle's duet. It was so sweet. *swoon*

The "War and Peace" segment of the show is breathtaking and always gives me chills. Lucy and Renee' pull off every scene with excellence, you can really feel their pain (even if Renee' wasn't actually singing, she did a good job pretending to).
The episode is goofy, but that's part of it's charm. One of my all-time faves.

I liked a couple of the songs in The Bitter Suite, but over all it's not one I'd recommend to anyone. You have to watch the the entire Rift arc for this one to make any sense at all, and I hated those shows.
