I have no idea what the track's called; it's in the middle of a mix I've been listenin' to lately. Lyrics: I can't stand it anymore now baby the music makes me feel so crazy so come on and take my hand and I'll show you the way to dance and again and again I need that feelin' 'cause baby I know I'm not dreamin' so come on and take my hand and I'll show you the promised land I love it.

Tragically, the theme tune to 'I Dream of Genie'... remember that show? terrible yet riveting 60's comedy about the love of a man and his genie... dixie

Oh yeah. Im obsessed with that show. What a milestone in feminist history. There's nothing like a show about a slave that falls for her driver. I can't remember if she stopped calling him "master" after they got married or not. Nick at night used to run a really sweet commercial for I dream of Genie using the theme song but different lyrics and a slower tempo. And does anyone remember the "who had stronger powers, Genie or Samantha from Bewitched" promo they had running for a while? Id have to say that Sam did. Too bad they werent strong enough to keep Dick York from going crazy and Dick Sergent from replaing him.

Ah 'Bewitched'...I think Samantha was one of the first girls I ever fell for...it was the wiggling nose that did it! Here in the UK they do re-runs of 'Bewitched' every morning because its the school holidays...but alas, no 'Genie'. Today the song in my head is 'Swanee' as performed by Judy Garland...please don't assume that this and 'I Dream of Genie' represent my overall taste in music! dixie

Ok I've had a song in my head for a couple of days, it's called "Beach Baby" by First Class it was a one hit wonder for the British import. It plays a lot on oldies stations. I love the song but once you hear it, it's with you for days. Remember these words? Beach Baby Do you remember back in old L.A. (Oh, oh, oh) When everybody drove a Chevrolet (Oh, oh, oh) Whatever happened to the boy next door The sun-tanned, crew-cut, All-American male?

"Take My Breath Away" by Jessica Simpson. It's a sorry attempt at doing a remake of the ever popular and numero uno version by "Berlin" in the early 1980's. Everytime I see her perform it I could just puke! She makes the strangest movements with her mouth when she sings! EWWHHHHH!!!! Irene

Hubs came downstairs this morning singing "Petticoat Junction". Remember that old T.V. show? Obviously it's faded a bit from his memory and he got his nostalgia mixed up. The words to his song went "And the train's on time at the junction...Petticoat Junction" Half of BTO's "Taking Care of Business" and half Petticoat Junction, even mixing the two tunes.
So all day today I've been going back and forth between the two songs. Grrrr.

"nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, Goodbye!"
I hate those repetitive things..............can't seem to get it to stop! Been trying to drown it out with that Geico commercial that has the pretty guitar riff.

"In olden days a glimpse of stocking, was looked on as something shocking, now heaven knows, anything goes. Good authors too, who once knew better words, now only use four letter words, writing prose, anything goes."
"Birds do it, bees do it, even educated fleas do it, let's do it, let's fall in love."
I saw the movie "De-Lovely" based on the life of songwriter Cole Porter a few days ago, and have had several of his songs going thru my mind ever since.

I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony. Grow apple trees, and honey bees, and snow-white turtle doves.
A co-worker came in today singing that song and it's been in my head ever since. Apparently the song's composer, (the original version - not the Coke jingle), died this past week. The Coke version, though, is the one that runs through my head. How's that for a powerful product jingle? Thirty-some years later, and I can still see them sitting on the hillside with lit candles. It's the real thing.
