Mine is almost always junk mail. The only real stuff I get is cards for one holiday or another, bills, and junk. Oh, and mail from charities telling me how urgent the need is that I support their cause.
Nice TG. Very nice.
Waking up to the smell of bacon. (I must be hungry. I've had several food oriented posts recently.)

I love this one! I wish it happened more often.
Cleaning out a drawer, and coming across an old momento you'd completely forgotten about.

Guess I could say the obvious, watching the Cats win the Premiership, but that's not the sort of thing you had in mind I guess, Nope, you go right ahead and savor that win, kat. Since my Sooner gals have never won the big one, I can't totally relate. Don't worry Siren, it'll happen eventually. I'd just about given up hope of seeing the Cats grab another flag after a forty four year wait since the last one, and then what happens, two in three years, so just have patience, there's one just around the corner with any luck. Settling back in a cool dark theatre waiting for the start of a [ hopefully ] good movie.

Ooooo, that is a good one for movie lovers like us, kat. And here's another:
Turner Classic Movies' "31 Days Of Oscar" festival
This month, TCM shows nothing but Oscar-winning movies. Tonight, they featured "The Thin Man" (I never tire of that one), followed by another starring the marvelous Myrna Loy, "The Best Years Of Our Lives", one of the finest films ever made, IMO.
Thanks for the vote of confidence for my Sooner gals, kat. I do hope I get to see them win it all, one day.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but thought this may be the place for it, and open by saying one of life's little pleasures is realising that the things we find to complain about are usually fairly trivial, and are brought into perspective by days like yesterday. The twelve month anniversary of the bushfires that devastated large areas of Victoria and claimed one hundred and seventy three lives was commemorated yesterday in a number of moving ceremonies across the state. The resilience and camaraderie of those affected was amazing, and seeing towns that were virtually wiped off the map slowly returning to life inspiring. www.blacksaturday.com.au/Home.aspxen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Saturday_(2009)

So true, Katina. The bushfires in Australia last year, the destruction in Haiti now; the lost of lives and property - there always seems to be something that puts things back into perspective. Wouldn't it be great if the most catastrophic thing we had to complain about in the world was a hangnail.

So beautifully fluffy, Stepper - the kind of fluff you can't help but want to run your fingers through, which is one of life's little pleasures in itself.
I've had fun this week getting some little pleasures out of letting my family know how much they mean to me; Monday, I told them it was "The Seven Days of Valentine's" week. Kind of dorky, I know, but every morning when they walk out the door, I've handed them three Hershey's Kisses wrapped up in tissue paper tied with a ribbon, and with a note attached explaining one silly reason I love each of them.
Because of the snow day Wednesday, getting Thursday morning's Valentines ready slipped my mind. I received three of disappointed "awww"s when I didn't hand them out - even Hubs, who adheres to the "Valentine's Day is just a Hallmark holiday" belief was pouty. It made me smile, because I thought they were just one of those eye-roll producing things that I do. Cool that my little pleasure turned into their little pleasure too.
Back on schedule this morning. It's good to start the day with one of life's little pleasures.

Couldn't say it better myself Step' so won't try, I'll just steal your post instead if that's okay with you. Great post Gams. This month, TCM shows nothing but Oscar-winning movies. Hope you're remembering to move about, get a little exercise, some food now and again etc. etc. Know how much you love your TCM.

No problem Kat! There's no such thing as a stolen post between friends.
I have to admit, I like that one too.
Yesterday I bought a bag of small chocolate hearts - sort of along the lines of a Hershey Kiss - except the wrap was pinkish and it had little hearts on the foil wrap too. Then I went to the bank, the vet's office, and my favorite Hallmark store. I wanted nothing from them, but went out of my way to make sure everyone got one of the candies including people who were "in the back". It was great fun watching them brighten up when they realized that someone was there simply to say thanks. All it cost me was $2 and a little time.
